Who has had breast implants? &other ramblings on plastics
Just curious as to what you chose, silicone or saline, what incision you got when you had them done and if you lost any sensation. Also were you happy with the size? I'm supposed to get my augumentation done March 5th and have a lot of decisions to make and I'm not sure. I'm actually sort of freaking myself out, and considering not doing it. I wasn't scared so much with the other surgery... it's just that the breasts, for the most part ARE totally cosmetic so if something screws up, I didn't HAVE to do it! With the skin I figured it just couldn't possibly look WORSE!
Here's the situation... I have size a boobies... there is a slight sag from losing weight... he wanted to do breast lift, I don't want one for cutting out a pinch of skin. Plus I've seen people with small breasts that sag do just the augumenation and have great results... dilema.... I wanted the incision in the fold underneath the breast. Chance of losing sensation is 5 percent. He wants to do through the areola so when he puts the implant in, and if it doesn't look right.... he can just trim a bit of the skin up that way if he HAS to! So great right? I cover my ass, BUT... the chance of losing sensation goes up to 25 percent from going in that way! That's a HUGE jump, and sorry if I'm being graphic, but it would really suck to lose that feeling you know? My other decisions are silicone is 1500 dollars MORE than the saline. Huge dollar amt. The feel more natural for sure but not 1500 dollars worth haha, and DR recommended them too because i basically have no breast tissue for the implant to hide under. I'm just kind of scared of the silicone even though they are thought to be safe again. And the last issue is size. To not have a lift and just use the implants I need to go large. I told him a large C big D, like a 450 cc implant for sure. My mom, b/f, almost everyone freaked out and said it would be way way to big on me. DR thought it would be okay, I think it looks okay. I have big shoudlers and hips to pull it off, although I have to admit since I've never had big boobs I'm worried about how clothes fit... like buttons popping off! haha! or just having to buy clothes that fit in the breasts but then don't fit your waist well, but bag on it. Is that the way it usually is? Sorry really stupid question and I'm sure you're laughting, but basically you're talking to someone that really never went through puberty for boobs... they didn't really grow!
Thanks everyone!!! Hugs!!!
P.S. People were right about this be addicting... on my consult Wed... he mentioned touching up the tummy tuck areas and I'm like great BUT, I want my back down now, and the thighs of course he knew about, but now I want lipo too. Ugh! I THOUGHT my back part was okay ... but you sit down and that back/hip area .... POOLS around when you sit/lay. And the pants fit great in the front, well now in the back I have like a baby mini inch muffin top from that skin being pushed up! I'm also getting a little concerned about my teen daughters. One is calling me barbie now. I hope I'm not sending them the wrong message. I did set them down and tell them that I'm not trying to look perfect, just fix what I did to ruin my body from being obese... that I would never have considered plastic surgery otherwise. I hope they understand but teens' minds seem to work a little different you know?
Hi Renee....I am so jealous you are getting the body I want..... anyway here are my thoughts.....
Boobs are important and so is the nipple sensation. I would not want to lose that feeling. Anyway as far as size....If you go big C I think you should be fine but the bigger you are the bigger your shirts will be and will the size make you feel fat? It would for me...Just a thought.
As for your girls I think you handled it well. They need to know we messed up and are trying to repair our damaged bodies...You are doing great...
Hugs, Chris
My sister had implants, it was a big huge secret and then there she was one day with big ole ta-ta's - and thought nobody would notice. Ha! She was also an A and wanted D. On the table the doctor downgraded her to a C and initially she was quite upset - but D would have been TOOO BIG. Now she looks proportioned - at a D she would have looked funny. The doctor downgraded her for cosmetic looks as well as there not being enough space for the D implant.
She had the incision underneath and has not lost any sensation. And she did silicone, to. This is a permanant decision so dont be afraid to spend the extra $ if you can and it gives you the right comfort level.
Suggestion: go to the store and try on C and D bras - bring some apples/oranges/socks to fill out the cups and see what you feel comfortable with. Your shirt size will definately change. But be assured...a flat tummy is nicely complimented by bigger boobs, I have really come to enjoy that look. (I am barely a D)
RENEE,
I had the purse string lift and my implants were inserted under the muscle with about a 3 in*****ision under my breast, you don't even see it you also don't see the lift as it was just around the arreola. I have lost no sensation from day one there. Now my tummy and thighs that is a different story they are still numb... I had the gummy bear implants and ended up a d with the tissue I had left. Your Dr should tell you what will look best with your chest measurements. Yes about the shirt issue I am wearing a comfy sweater today and it fits great on top and tents out at the bottom and I was just thinking I should take it in on the sides at the bottom.
HAVE A GREAT DAY

I got the silicone...yes they are way more $$ but they look wayyyy natural. As far as your incision....your doc know what might be a better fit for you. Instead of looking at statistics, look at realistics. Even if he didn't go through your nipple, you might have some other problem that's way worse than losing nipple sensation. The probability of losing sensation is actually on the low side. My doc went through my nip and my sensation is BETTER than what it was before surgery. Now isn't that great! Make sure you ask your doc as many questions as you can think of, also if there are any nurses in the office that have had procedures...they're a great resource! Do some research on your own about your docs suggestions as well as alternatives. Whichever you choose, good luck and hope it meets your expectations!
Now, as far as this other plastic surgery...it's a touchy subject. Especially since you have teenagers (can't believe you have a teen by the way). Remember that ADDICTIONS have consequences. Just because one or two procedures satisfied you doesnt mean the third or fourth will. Having surgery...any surgery is a big risk. If you're willing to take such a big risk because you have a bulge here, and your thighs could look better there then go for it! I personally think my body could look way better! At the same time...I appreciate it for what it is. I have the back fat, the ripply thighs, bat wings as arms but I'm okay with it. This is what I signed up for...so I got it. That's my personal journey so that's how I view it...others view it differently. Just remember to think of the all the risks...medical, surgical, physical, emotional. Now as far as your teens...teens are SO uptight about their bodies in this time. I don't ever remember girls in my teens being so hard on thier bodies! My neice is 16 and she's always harping on her body...I tell her to embrace her nose that she's always complaining about and be happy she got a little bit of junk in the trunk! I gained a lil bit of weight back so I could HAVE a booty! Young women are SO impressionable at this time. I don't have children, but I'm sitting here thinking....if my mom changed almost everything on her body, where does that leave me? Should I do the same...I mean, I am a product of her so the same way she's changing this and that about her body, I should think the same about mine. It's a little different for us because we've had WLS and teens don't make that distinction. To be honest, it ain't all that pretty when some of us take our clothes off. I don't love what it looks like, but I like it just enough. These are my thoughts and opinions of course so don't think I'm placing them to your situation. Whichever you choose, hope its the right choice for YOU and YOU enjoy it!!
April
I do not have any insight on the implants.
I did want to agree with what April said in regards to your daughter's thinking about their mom changing everything. I think you have to be very careful. I think telling them your are fixing what you ruined was a good idea. But, how will you explain the boobs which are totally cosmetic? Do you think they will think you are not being totally honest with them? Do you think they will think their boobies are good enough? Just some things to think about ... IMHO
God Bless!

Did you expect me to stay out of this thread???? LOL!!!
Well under my point of view, you should go where you feel confortable enough...
- Size... it is not just the size, under my very own thought it is a matter of what is correct under your very own proportions... there are some skinny girls with huge boobs or bigger girls with tiny saggy boobs... for me... I prefer proportion... the most bautiful women are totally proportionated, there is a window there in which you can choose some sizes but you have to be carefull on your decisition: too big will make them look as too much and too small will make them feel like you wanted more... the most importan issue here is you to feel confortable with your own body...
- Method: I think it is a matter of your Dr. recommedation. If you were a teenager perhaps the best decisition would be to do the surgery through an incision made in your belly bouton to avoid scars, but under your very own situation, your Dr. should have the best recommendatons for you...
Eather way I know you will look spectacular...
I hope that you will have the best decisition...
Best Regards
