In my quest to be healthy in 2008 I am looking at my patterns and habits. I see a few of my old/bad ones are creeping back....how about you? Are there any old patterns or habits that you see returning? What are you doing to break it? What are you doing to establish new patterns? Curious how everyone is doing with this.... ~Tiffany

me..... Are there any old patterns or habits that you see returning? I am not chewing food as long as I should. I am also eating standing up in the kitchen rather than serving myself a plate and sitting down. Which leads to a few bites of this, a few bites of that. I do stop when I feel full, however. What are you doing to break it? I am trying to be more formal in my dining experience and plate up everything - without nibbling as I go. And then after every bite, chew to 15 (or more) and putting down the fork in between bites. What are you doing to establish new patterns? Being conscious of my behaviour as I approach every meal, thinking about it.

Happy Thursday eveeryone....it's so quite at work today............. Are there any old patterns or habits that you see returning? I just noticed the other night I was nibbleing while cooking ( i am going to work on that ) also we were out the other day and I ate half of my burger a few fries and when everyone else was done eating and we had talked for a while I picked up my burger and had another bite, my husband said oh it's been long enogh you can eat again ? I pushed the plate away and thought wow I don't want to start that . What are you doing to break it? Be more aware of what I am putting in my mouth and when What are you doing to establish new patterns? Remove or have the waiter remove my food when done and no nibbleing while cooking........ HAVE A GREAT DAY TORI

Hey Tiff!!! I want to wish you and all of our family (if I may call us a family) a great year full of happyness, health, wealth, harmony, peace, etc... Here you have my answers: Are there any old patterns or habits that you see returning? Just when I am not behaving I start to eat very fast again, and I tend to eat more carbs that I should... What are you doing to break it? I come back to the basics analizing my dishes and deciding what is going to be the intake before starting to eat. I use to analize my feelings for the food I have in front of me. If they represent good healthy food and makes me fell proud, and safe I start to eat, but if I feel bad, of hungry, or guilty I reject the dish (not easy I know), and look for something more suiteable for me... What are you doing to establish new patterns? I always am analizing my intakes. It's not easy to break old patterns, but to be honest when I go back and verify all that I have done good and bad, the dicisions taken, the suffering, the investment, I realize that I can't go back... no way!!! Best regards Tiff... My best wishes for you and a year full of wow moments!!! Alejandro from Guadalajara Mexico

Hey Tiffany, I was having problems back in the fall. I was ODing on processed carbs especially things like pretzels and sesame sticks. And I was eating until I became sick and vomiting. I knew it was due to the stress and frustration of my job search but it was pretty bad. I started going to the monthly support group from my surgical team and then I cleaned out the house and got rid of all the "crap." Glad to say I've been doing well since then.
