Food tricks and treats

I will post one or two at a time, so they don't get lost and I don't get overwelmed. First is something I eat almost every day. I love peanut butter, but the calories, even if it is low fat, is way out there. So here is what I do. I spread a teaspoon of peanut butter on half of a slice of OroWheat lite bread. The lite bread is whole wheat and only 40 calories. The peanut butter is 1/6 of a serving, 170 calories for a whole serving. But here is the trick. I then put a large amount, of Fat Free Kraft Cream Cheese. It is only 35 calories per serving. It has the same texture as peanut butter. With the taste of peanut butter and the cream cheese, it tastes like a big ole peanut butter sandwich. One slice, folded in half, is about all I can eat at a meal and is less than 100 calories. Now if you like jelly, Smuckers now has SF jelly. It is 35 calories a serving. The bread and all wont hold a whole serving when folded, but it can hold enough for the taste, so it still keeps it near or under 100 calories. One other thing I still do, I eat in small bowls and plates. I will have tortilla chips as a snack, but I make sure to put a handful in a small bowl. A way of measuring I guess. I will try to post this once a week. Next week I will put in 2 or 3 tips, need to put them together. Best of luck everyone. If you have a craving or there is a food you miss, ask me, I might have a way to eat it again, at least close, and not feel guilty about it.

What store do you buy the bread at? I have never heard of it so I will go look for it... Hugs, Chris

I get the bread at Target mostly. I also find it at most of our grocery stores, usually Stater Bros. It is a great bread. Wonder has one, but I find it has little taste and is dry.
