Hello everyone! I have been really busy traveling with work, my on-the-side jewelry business and coping with all of the changes that have come from losing 1/2 of me! Yeah - she is gone forever! I saw Jersey Mom's post about not hearing from some people and I am going to make a concerted effort to post more and offer support. What kind of car do you drive? What kind of car do you wish you had? What is your favorite childhood memory? What is special about your hometown? What is special about the town you live in now, if a different place? Have a great day guys and gals!!! Rhonda

Here are my answers: What kind of car do you drive? 2005 Red Ford Escape What kind of car do you wish you had? 2008 Red Dodge Dakota and an unlimited gas card to go with it.... What is your favorite childhood memory? I remember spending a week every summer with both of my grandmothers - they both lived in Corpus Christi, TX. We were the center of attentiion to them - we played games, dolls etc and I could always talk my granny into rubbing my back "because I could not sleep." She would do it until I dozed off every night. What is special about your hometown? I grew up in New Braunfels.Texas. It is a wonderful place - home of Schlitterbahn, two great rivers to go toobing and the 10 day salute to sausage called WurstFest, which happens to be Nov 2 - 11. What is special about the town you live in now, if a different place? I live in Kyle, Texas, about 20 miles south of Austin and 20 miles north of New Braunfels. At our HEB Plus (grocery store) grand opening, there were over 500 people and the people from HEB headquarters said it was the best attendance at a grand opening ever...we had food, a band, tours etc. It was fun. The population of Kyle was 5000 in 2000 and now it is over 25,000. I know that a grocery store grand-opening is not a big deal, but it was to us...now we do not have to drive 20 minutes to get just a couple of things. Have a great day! Rhonda

What kind of car do you drive? ~ A black Mercury Mountaineer What kind of car do you wish you had? ~ I love the car that I drive now. Then we would spend the day swimming in the pool. What is special about your hometown? ~ Not much. Except that it is just that...my homehown. I was born and raised here...bought my childhood home...so it looks like I am a lifer! What is special about the town you live in now, if a different place? ~ See the previous question! Great questions, Rhonda! Have a great day, everyone! Hugs, Jersey Mom

Good to see you, Rhonda, and that all is going well! Good questions....the board is rocking already! What kind of car do you drive? I have two, 10 years ago I won a BMW Z3 - a promotion tied to Goldeneye, it's blue, just like the movie. So in the summer I drive that (for two years it just sat because I was too fat to comfortably be in it, FYI). And I liked how BMW's perform so long ago I bought a used 1995 525 sedan. It's an big old boat that I'll drive forever and ever. What kind of car do you wish you had? I'd like a big SUV that does not use lots of gas. And I'd really like to drive a porche boxer. I love powerful cars. What is your favorite childhood memory? Hanging out with my Nana and hearing her stories of traveling the world. She really inspired me in this way and just loved me so unconditionally.... What is special about your hometown? Absolutely nothing. Well, Jack Benny grew up there. It's an industrial town in the NE corner of Illinois. What is special about the town you live in now, if a different place? The town I live in now is nice. Easy access to Chicago, Wisconsin, the airport. Good shopping and lots of restaurants. We have a really nice outdoor concert pavillion and the botanical garden; lots of trees and mature landscaping/parks. It is also on lake michigan, I like living near the water....

Hi Rhonda!!! Here you have my answers!!! What kind of car do you drive? 1998 Dodge Stratus. An old but reliable car. I woul like to change it a soon as posible though... perhaps a Volvo S80 if I come closer to reality, or a Dodge Charger R/T if I come even closer!!! lol What kind of car do you wish you had? Ferrari Enzo!!!! well not happening in my life... !!! What is your favorite childhood memory? Beach vacations with parents, my brother and my sisters... We have beautiful beaches in México. I love water. I can't even remember to be afraid of water... What is special about your hometown? ooooohhh that is a question with a long answer... Guadalajara is the source of culture that is better known out of Mexico. Tequila is a region 40 minutes from Guadalajara. The best tequila is made here... (Nothing you can buy there in USA I am sure!!!) Mariachi comes from Guadalajara too!!! I have a saying when I am attending people coming out of Mexico: Guadalajara is the land of Mariachi, Tequila and beautiful women... (Not necesarily in that order)... Guadalajara is a 500 year city. It has over 8'000,000 population and has colonial arquitecture... there is a lot to do here... Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo are beaches near of here, Tapalpa and Mazamitla are towns in the montains near of here too... What is special about the town you live in now, if a different place? Okay... my turn What kind of car do you drive? A Silver 2004 Nissan Titan Crew Cab What kind of car do you wish you had? A Mint-Condition, Black 1986 Buick Grand National !!! What is your favorite childhood memory? I was about 5 (1974). One Summer Sunday, My Mom, Dad & I were supposed to go to the park for a picnic. That morning, there was a heavy downpour that threatened to ruin our plans. My Father, of course, had checked the weather report and knew that the sun would most likely be out by noon. So, at about 11:00 - 11:30, I'm still bummed out... my dad comes to me and says "Let's go outside and get the rain to stop." He grabs his flute and I get my little toy marching drum... we get outside in the rain, and start walking around the neighborhood playing "Here Comes The Sun". Sure enough, the rain stops, the sun comes out and we get to have our family outing afterall. To this day, "Here Comes the Sun" is my all-time favorite song. That event solidified it as magical for me... and over 30 years later, each time I hear it, it brings me back to that day. What is special about your hometown? Not a thing! What is special about the town you live in now, if a different place? For the past 13 years, I've lived in Island Heights... http://www.islandheightsboro.com A tiny Borough at the Jersey Shore on the banks of both the Toms River and Barnegat Bay. (We've actually torn our old house down and will be moving into our brand new house next week!) It has that "old-timey" kind of neghborhood vibe, but only a very short distance from major shore locales like Toms River, Seaside Heights or Point Pleasant. I can drive either to NYC or Philly in about an hour. You don't have to lock your doors in Island Heights. There's no mail delivery... everyone has a box at the post office (which overlooks the bay). In about 1/2 square mile, there's 2 art galleries, a ballet school, a yacht club, 3 marinas, a corner deli, an ice cream shoppe, 2 playgrounds, a hockey rink, 2 beaches, and a school system where there's less than 10 students per teacher and 95% of the kids go on to college. There are street fairs and festivals along the river, 4th of July fireworks over the Bay, Christmas house tours, Spring garden tours, Town-wide garage sales, Bon-fires on the beach, Pie-baking & fishing contests, Camp-outs under the stars and every August, the circus even comes to town! I will never live anyplace else... Feel free to come and visit! Be Well, A.J.
