I spent the afternoon on the roof. We have a flat-slant roof and it needed coated. I put it off as long as possible thinking maybe one of my son-in-laws would offer to do it or at least help me, but no such luck. So today it was nice and I decided that I couldn't put it off any longer. So I lugged five gallon buckets of elasicote weightin what felt like a ton a piece into the back of the pick-up, then up the ladder and then all over the roof. The roof is 2500 sq ft. Then I had to pry the buckets open and spread it over the roof. But I was smart about it. I did all the seams and screws first so if I don't get anything else done this fall it should get us through the winter. But I did get quite a bit done. One more good afternoon and I should have it all done. Tomorrow is suppose to be nice, but I have to work so I won't get to it until Friday at the earliest. And being Nebraska, who knows what Friday will be. I still have to bake a birthday cake tonight so it will be ready to decorate tomorrow. It is my daughters 33rd birthday. We didn't think she would live to see this birthday, but thank the Lord she has. Any way the moral of this post is I hurt from one end of my little body to the other. That is what I have done for me today, what have you done for you? Hazel

Wow Hazel, every post you show me how strong you really are! I am aching just thinking about it. Hope it is a good hurt, and doesn't last to long! So for me with all the stress I have been very depressed and decided I would help myself by taking my 2 mile walk. I have neglected doing this and think it added to my depression! So I ate well, and walked and got all my water in....On top of that I went to college for the placement tests I have to take.....I did well on reading and writing and screwed up on the math (it has been 24 years since I was in a math class) so now I will take a refresher course and retake the test...boy do I feel stupid! Then I went and got my nails done.....Busy busy! Hugs, Chris

Hey Lady: Do NOT feel stupid about your math scores. When I look at my 12-year-old neice's math book, it is like it is written in Latin (and I cannot read Latin!). I HATE math! I have no confidence in my math abilities and, as a matter of fact, I just learned that the way I visualize numbers in my head is the way they teach austistic kids to do math! For my SATs, I got something like 720 (out of 800) on the English part...and 300-something on the math part! Math is hard...and today's "math" is seriously another language! So, again, do NOT feel stupid...you will pick it up and you will ROCK it! Love and hugs, Jersey

Wow Hazel congrats on tackling that roof. Just reading that makes me scared, I'm afraid of heights.

Holy Crap, Hazel! You are an extraordinary woman! I would not even CONSIDER lugging anything up a ladder to do anything to my roof (little bit afraid of heights). I am seriously, seriously impressed! You are a little powerhouse! I BET you are sore but you should be SO PROUD of those aches and pains. They are coming from a job (MORE THAN) well done! Do me a favor, though, please do something else for yourself today! Maybe buy yourself a nice shirt or something! I have not done much for myself today. But I did buy some things from the Gap *yesterday*...and should not have...but I will count that for today! Have a great day, Hazel! Hope your aches and pains feel better soon! Hugs, Jersey Mom

holy cow woman!!! are you out of your mind?? You really must be out of your mind!! I'm proud of you for being able to do that....god knows it would have NEVER happened 2 years ago...but at the same time; sweetie you could have really hurt yourself. Maybe it's just the "motherly instinct" in me or something but when I was young my mom was on the roof and fell off!! She got hurt pretty bad too. *hugs* Dawn

You continue to amaze me Hazel! You are truly versatile Well I scheduled a colonoscopy. I've been avoiding this for several years now and yesterday, at the surgeon's he walked me into the scheduler's office and got it done. He will do the procedure and I really trust him so I know it won't be too bad. Just not looking to having to do the fleets (colon cleanse) again So that's what I did for me. Oh I forgot. I bought myself a birthday gift. I know it's a couple weeks early, but I bought a pool pass to the local rec center. As of my double nickles birthday, I am eligble for their Senior Rate. So even though I'm out of district (it's in the next town over) it is very reaasonable. And I love love being in the pool. So starting after my b-day I will be going to the pool at least 3 times a week. That aught to help with my excersise

I love home projects. I would have helped you if I were closer! You need to relax now. Think of all the calories you burned going up and down the ladder and lugging the buckets. WOW! For me .. I took Grace to the doctor, she is sick, sick sick. I hate sick kids, she is absolutely misearble, whiny and cranky. I got me a big ol' java chiller from sonic - can we say yum!!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless! Jen
