Hello everyone,, wow this board is SMOKING! For those who are intereted I thought I would update you on my son and what has been going on with him..... John started the high school in September and has had a problem with being bullied all through elementary and middle school and of course it carried over to the high school. Well needless to say there were several weeks in September where he was roughed up, once after school and walking down the hallway, by the same boy and a third time by a different boy. Each time he was told to go to an adult and tell them which then causes more problems. The principal does not believe my son is the victim but continued to tell my son he was the common denominator. OK I have a problem with this as he is classified and has an IEP which states his disabilities and struggles, one being his poor social skills. Of course the principal would not know this as he didn't read the IEP until after the third incident and I was very angry with the situations. Well, John started to get a sharp headache and then pass out in school and these were actual blackouts for approximately 30 seconds and witnessed by adults. Headache would disappear after he came to. Facial color became extremely pale and blood pressure would alter. Each time I would take him to the pediatrician for an exam. They did and EKG and an echo cardio exam and then hooked him uo to a halter monitor for 24 hours. All were negative, but John continued to have headaches and pass out. We were/are no sure it isn't subconscious over the stress he is going through.....we went for a ct scan with contrast and so far no word so we are hoping it is negative.....Today he lost feeling in his legs and collapsed 2 times to the floor, unable to move his legs for approximately 10 minutes, complaining he could not feel his legs. Weakness and shaky legs remained for about 1/2 hour after ea*****ident. We are doing more cardiac exams and will be probably seeing a neurologist when the cardiac work up is completed....(unless it is necessary to see them sooner) The pediatrician said he is not convinced it is not anxiety related but needs to be sure it is not medical before we look into that, although we are seeking help with the psychologist and all. Anyway for those who asked here is the update and as I know more I will share with you. Thanks for all the well wishes. Hugs, Chris

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. It is so much harder when one of our children is haveing the problems isn't it. I know how worried you have to be. But you know it could all be stress. It is horrifying what stress can do to a person. Stay close to the Lord and he will see you through this. Hazel

Chris, I am so sorry he is going thru all this. I had similair problems in HS with blackouts; it was not until I fell down a flight of stairs that they thought I was telling the truth! Ends up my spine was not right, I found this out and resolved it with a chiropractor. After a week in the hospital and every test possible they never came across what the chiro found and fixed. So that's my suggestion to you - I wish you were near me, mine specializes in odd cases and is just amazing. I can ask him for a referral if you are not sure where to start. Sometimes it just takes a different way of thinking. These things can be linked to allergies, toxins or just the body out of skew. Hope this helps and opens up a new approach to helping him. Feel free to write with any questions about what I experienced and the treatment. My thoughts are with you both!!! xo Tiffany

Thanks Tiffany, it does give me a different way to think about this situation...I willbring it up to the doctor and go from there. I know today when he had trouble with his legs and fell to the floor he dragged himself into the room I was in and he actually looked like a mermaid. I don't get scared easily but I definately was today. Thanks for your kind words! Hugs, Chris

Know that traditional medicine does not always support chiropractic so if your doctor is not excited about this idea, dont be afraid to step out onto another path. Chiro is non invasive, no pain....nothing is lost with a consultation. Keep us/me posted. I went thru all this when I was 16.......

My doctor actually sent Brittany to a chiro when she was 16 because of her sports activity. I will definately bring it up to the doctor and would not be afraid to pu**** Isn't it weird what the body goes through? Hugs, Chris

It is odd the more you learn about the body, it is fascinating but I still could not go into health care as a profession. It sounds like your Dr is open to non traditional methods. I wish you success and strength as you work this thru. There is a cure out there, it sounds like it's just a matter of finding out hte right diagnosis and treatment.

You know, my Dad had stress induced seizures a couple of years ago. It sounds like this could be similar. I would look to a neurologist sooner. Does your son have a metalic or other strange taste in his mouth when this happens? That is a sure sign of seizures. I just have a strong feeling this might be a good direction to look in. I hope something is found soon.

Hi Kristi, good to see you. John has not complained of any bad tastes, though I will check with him. His psychologist suggested seizures last week but that was before the leg thing happened. I am glad I posted this publically as I am getting different possabilities to look into. Thanks for you input.... Hugs, Chris
