Yes, my liver is really disintegrating

I saw the Hepatologist on Tuesday. The good news is: this doctor is smart, well spoken and takes the time to really go over stuff. The bad news is: I really do have Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. While I'm disappointed at the answer, I was so hoping for a different one, I relieved to finally have an answer. We are treating me conservatively by jus****ching my liver enzymes, via blood tests, for now. When they stop trending down on their own (the enzymes) I'll have to begin medication. Sorry to be such a downer tonight. RobinNJ

Sorry to hear your news about your liver problems. I hope that medication will help you for a long time when you need to start it. I'll pray that you stay healthy w/o out meds for as long as you can. Karla

So sorry to hear that Robin. It's good to finally get an answer to something, even if it's the one you don't want. I'm sure this doc that you speak so fondly of will help you through this and do what's best for your treatment. April

That's a big bummer. Why aren't you beginning the medication now? I do not understand.

Tori, This won't resolve. PBC is a CHRONIC, GENETICALLY LINKED, AUTO-IMMUNE disease. The medication I'll have to go onto is lifelong. Sorry, I realize that sounded harsh and you just wanted to wish me well. My emotions are all in knots. Thanks for the caring thoughts. RobinNJ
