Pissed off and Disappointed
Hi all,
Thursday was supposed to be a fun day for me. I've been looking forward to it for 2 weeks. (Especially after being given bad news at the doctor's on Tuesday but that's another post.) I'm soooooo bummed.
I was invited to the taping of a pilot TV show in NYC. I was told to be there at 11:45 am, dressed for a "night on the town". I was told I could bring up to 3 friends as long as I let them know in advance. I told them I was bringing 2 friends.
We boarded the train for NYC from 2 different stations and coordinated meeting onboard. I was dressed the "the nines" in a halter dress and had bought a new wrap to wear with it. We got into Manhattan at 9:30 am and went to Macy*s to get our make-up done. We looked hot!!
We got to the studio at 11:40 am and were about the 25th people on line. I went up to give the "Production person" (PP) my name and let her know I was here. That was when I learned that people had started lining up at 8am and the audience was full. I wasn't getting in.
My friends and I waited, along with the 25 people ahead and 50 people behind us, for about an hour for someone other than the PP intern to talk to us. During that time, the PP came back and forth several times and hand-picked about another dozen people to go in. (I think she was "correcting" the ethnic balance of the audience because everyone she chose had similar skin hues.) I didn't make the cut.
My friends and I got back on the train for the hour-plus ride back. I feel like such a fool for dragging them on this misadventure. I've wasted their time and train fare. I hope they will forgive me.

Robin... I don't think your friends felt like it was a disappointment or waste of time. You guys looked hot, got your make up done, spent time with each other and were actually in NYC smokin' hot!
If they are upset... they're off their rocker. I think it would be wonderful to dress up and just go to the local city he he
