I just want yall all to know I read each day, I just very rarely get time to post -- life is TOO busy some days. 1. Yes -- I am jealous of LOTS of things, usually all self-esteem related in some way. LONG past history, very abusive first marraige, etc. As a result, I tend to be a little "over the top" (nice way of putting it) when it comes to my wonderful husband, his past life, the looks he gets from other women, etc. I feel horrible about this and I struggle with it every day. 2. Nope -- none at all. My sister is a little bitter about it, but that's it. 3. I am one of those women who have noticed a difference in the way I am treated as a "thinner" person and so I guess I could say yes - I've gained a lot more friends. 4. Yes. Each and every day is a struggle. 5. This weekend is busy (as are they all). Friday night my hubby and I have tickets to see Casting Crowns at the Toyota Center. Saturday night is homecoming for our high school and both of my daughters are involved -- one in band, one in drill. Saturday day the band has a marching competition. Sunday is always church, laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning, etc. Lisa

Hey Lisa: I LOVE band competitions! I was not in the band in HS but ALL my friends were (we had a clique of 9 of us). I used to ride in the bus with them...it was such a blast! And...this is so cool...recently our town's band bus was overhauled by "Pimp My Ride!!" It was a community program so it won't be aired...but the new bus is ROCKIN'!! Have a good one! Jersey

I wasn't in the marching band either, but I LOVE watching them. Our high school was brand-spanking new last year and so as a result, we only had grades 9-11, no seniors. Nearly 60% of the band were freshmen and as a result - their marching left a lot to be desired. This year, however, we ROCK!!! They are awesome to behold. Uh, but I'm not biased or anything. And our drill team is very good, too. Gotta throw that out there for my other daughter. LOL.

Band was my favorite thing in HS, especially marching season. We were really good, too and did a state marching competition. I played flute. Band trips and competitions can be just as engaging!! (Although I hated being the largest sized uniform they had except for this big drummer dude!!!) Hope your daughters have fun and look magestic!

Here are my responses... 1.) Have you ever been jealous? Over what? ~ Up until I was 33, I never, ever experienced jealousy (I am 36 now). I consider myself blessed beyond belief to not be a jealous person because I have seen the ugliness it produces. However, I am ashamed to say that I was WILDLY jealous when my friend started losing weight after her WLS (she had it done almost two years before me). She and I have always had a rather contentious relationship...I am not sure why. I think it is because she is not the nicest of people but I am sure I played a part in it, too. When she started losing weight...OMG...I felt feelings of pure hate towards her. In my small defense, it is because she SHOVED her success in my face every second of every day. I have to say...for the first year+ of my weight loss, I tried to NEVER talk about with with my sister or my best friend from Virginia because they are both overweight and I did not want to hurt them. But my friend literally mashed it in my face...she sent me hourly updates of how little she ate during the day and how everyone and their mother complimented her. Once again, let me stress how utterly ashamed I was during that time because I ultimately emailed her and told her I did not want to hear one word about her little pouch for the next ten days. She responded, "Well, this would not bother you if you were not overweight." NO SH*T, SHERLOCK! Anyhow...the jealousy was ugly and I pray I never feel that way again! 2.) Did you lose a lot of friends because of WLS? ~ Yes. And no. To tell you the truth, I really have NO friends (non-internet, I mean). I am not kidding...I just don't. I consider my co-workers "friends" but we do not hang out. My best friend in the world lives three states away. I consider my VERY best friend to be my sister, Tracey, and I see her as often as I can. I am such a typical Cancer, though...I am a homebody...I don't go out much. But, in a way, I did lose one friend to WLS. And it is the friend I spoke about in Question #1. Again, I was jealous about her weight loss but I DID compliment her A LOT and listened to her A LOT. I did not judge her (to her face ) when she started sleeping with every guy she met on myspace (she had never had a boyfriend in the 8+ years I knew her...nor did she have one before that, to my knowledge). I understand letting loose but...picking a 19-year-old up at his dorm to bring him back to your house for sex is just gross (she was 34!!). Anyhow...once *I* started losing weight...there were NO compliments! When I would tell her about something special that someone said to me, she gave no response. And...when I would tell her that people are saying I am too skinny, she would say, "That is so silly...you could stand to lose a few more lbs!" I know, I know...with friends like her, who needs enemies. But we did have fun when we got together. I have not seen her since 2/6/07 (she drove me to hospital the night of my bowel twist). We email from time to time...but, really, once I weighed less than her, she pretty much dropped out of my life. 3.) Did you GAIN any friends (not online...in real life) because of WLS? ~ Nope. Although I am more outgoing than I used to be. So that's cool! 4.) Are you still obsessed with food? ~ Yes...it still has a terrifying hold over me. The surgery saved my health...but did not save my brain! 5.) What are your plans for the weekend? ~ My husband is doing a 5K run on Saturday morning (at 7:45 AM!!) so we are all going to that. Then I have a hair appt. and my son NEEDS his hair cut so my husband will take him. We are getting my son's Halloween portraits done...which will be a TOTAL nightmare! Then just other chores and laundry. BUT...it will be two beautiful days spent with my boy and I CAN'T WAIT! Have a great day, Everyone! Hugs, Jersey

Hello again....I will think of some topics and pm you when I can..... 1.) Have you ever been jealous? Over what? I usually am not a jealous person in nature...........but there is a **** who used to like my hubby when we were teenagers and she was very easy...........We broke up for awhile and he didn't sleep with her but she offered and every now and then he will jokenly bring her name up..........We giggle over it but she has always been pretty and skinny and she is my sister in laws best friend. She lives in California and several years ago she came home and my sister in law had a dinner for her and we went..........She was wearing a jean mini skirt and I was of course wearing a moomoo.........(not really but it felt like it) So when her back was turned I put a cheese puff in her pocket.... 2.) Did you lose a lot of friends because of WLS? I did not lose any friends............All my friends support me completely. I am very lucky! 3.) Did you GAIN any friends (not online...in real life) because of WLS? I did gain alot of friendships. I became friends in real life with Karyn and we have seen each other 2 times since Vegas and plan on seeing each other in Turning stone November third. And Anna and Iare real friends..... I do plan on getting together with Anna if our schedules coinside (we live further away)I also became friends with people because of my wls.......... Not close friends but people I think of as friends.... 4.) Are you still obsessed with food? Always on my mind..... 5.) What are your plans for the weekend? Saturday I am going to my daughter's college volleyball tournement and sunday jus****ching football. (I bet on the games with family) Hugs, Chris

1.) Have you ever been jealous? Over what? There were times thru school when I was jealous of what other people did as thin people that I could not as a fat person....clothing. Fit thru small spaces. Athletics. I dont consider myself lucky in love and sometimes have a ping when I see a strong couple together and the intimacy they share....and hope the one day my life is blessed with a long term, loving relationship. 2.) Did you lose a lot of friends because of WLS? Some. A very large woman and I are good friends and enjoyed being fat together. When I told her of my decision she was FURIOUS and even screamed at me the day I was in the hospital; I soon thereafter told her we needed some space. We did not speak for 9 months until I got a call that her son was killed a few hours earlier in a car accident. I was immediately at her side, we've since mended and are tight. I also found a few 'girlfriends' who liked having me around to make themselves look better. A few guy friends suddenly hit on me and I dismissed them, too. 3.) Did you GAIN any friends (not online...in real life) because of WLS? Yes, people treat me completely differently. Men, especially. Although none have stood out as super special, the quality of those who approach has dramatically improved. And a business colleague watched me melt, was so impressed that I could and did make such big decisions that he hired me on his executive team. It was funny, as I was doing orientation paperwork I gave him a copy of my resume which he'd never looked at, he just knew me for so long....LOL. It has also completely changed business dealings. I was always welcomed before but now, it is just different, a very strong feeling of respect. I also thought that being a normal weight would bring more dates/relationships into my life... 4.) Are you still obsessed with food? Absolutely, yes. I love to go to the grocery store. Living alone I tend to buy a lot of prepared stuff from this great deli who specializes in healthy/organic options. Sometimes I know there is NO WAY I can possibly eat what I have bought. In those times I make myself write down how much $$ I am literally throwing away. Other times I make myself go thru my freezer and cabinets and use some of the stuff I've hoarded. 5.) What are your plans for the weekend? I am reverting back to my 'old' ways and leaving town. In my old lifestyle, when things got hectic I'd plan a business trip and go off and not pay attention to the issues and what I was feeling. I am tired of boys and crap associated wtih online dating so I decided to attend a friend's wedding in Denver...a bit last minute but I was also not sure I was recovered enuf from surgery to make the trip. (another friend is dealing with my luggage). I have a hot black dress, two new outfits and plan to strut my stuff. And OK, let's be honest here, I almost did not go because I wanted to see a guy who's since proven to not be worth my time. Tying into the earlier question....I am also seeing my best friend from HS. She was the super thin one, I was the super fat one all the years we hung out. It will be interesting to see how it works thru; I know she is still super thin. I think our friendship was beyond our appearances, however, but we'll see!

finally caught up and on time for todays roll call! 1.) Have you ever been jealous? Over what? I am a very jealous person, this has always been an issue for me, you name it I was jealous about it. But currently I am struggling with major jealousy in regards to my new relationship. I struggle every day to believe I deserve someone as amazing as Chris, and he has a lot of female friends that just drive me crazy! we have talked about it many times, and he has repeatedly told me that I am the only one he has ever loved so much that he wants to spend the rest of his life with but that still isn't good enough. What the heck is wrong with me? I am determined to work through this because I will not lose him, but holy crap it is REALLY hard for me. 2.) Did you lose a lot of friends because of WLS? no, none really. 3.) Did you GAIN any friends (not online...in real life) because of WLS? other than online, no. 4.)
