Roll Call - TOO EARLY in the morning!
Good morning, peeps!
It is 6:45 AM and I have been at work since 6:15. I had to drop my husband off at the airport so I just came to work from there. I have no idea where the light switches are so I am sitting here in the dark. I can't even do my make-up or else I will end up looking like Tammy Faye! So...I thought it would be a good time to do roll call!
So here is today's edition...
1. What is the most unusual thing that you can do?
2. Finish the following question: People would be very surprised to know that I _____.
3. If you wrote an autobiography, what would be the title?
4. What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
5. Do you have a favorite poem? If so, what is it?
Okay...that's all today. It is not easy coming up with questions everyday but I will try my darndest!
Have a wonderful day, everyone!
It is only two days until my son comes home so I am SOOOO PSYCHED!
Hugs,
Jersey Mom
Chiming in with my answers...
1. What is the most unusual thing that you can do?
~Hmm...it is a tie between two unusual things. Oh, hey! The lights just came on in my building! Whoo hoo! Anyhow....I can put both legs behind my head and I can also stand on my toes (with my toes curled under...this REALLY grosses people out!).
2. Finish the following question: People would be very surprised to know that I was married in India; that I am often crippled by depression (people at work would be floored); that I used to be a strict born-again; that I used to be a prude!
3. If you wrote an autobiography, what would be the title?
~Here is my nod to Wally Lamb. My autobiography would be entitled, "She Will Not Come Undone."
4. What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
~Oooh...where to start. Probably the craziest was showing up at a famous singer's house uninvited when I was 18. My pal and I just walked up to the doorman, I sweet talked him, and we were let up. And we were invited to stay!!
5. Do you have a favorite poem? If so, what is it?
~ There are many poems that I adore but here are my favorites:
--My favorite poem now: Song of a Wandering Aengus by William Butler Yeats
I went out to the hazel wood,
Because a fire was in my head,
And cut and peeled a hazel wand,
And hooked a berry to a thread;
And when white moths were on the wing,
And moth-like stars were flickering out,
I dropped the berry in a stream
And caught a little silver trout.
When I had laid it on the floor
I went to blow the fire aflame,
But something rustled on the floor,
And someone called me by my name:
It had become a glimmering girl
With apple blossom in her hair
Who called me by my name and ran
And faded through the brightening air.
Though I am old with wandering
Through hollow lands and hilly lands,
I will find out where she has gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And walk among long dappled grass,
And pluck till time and times are done
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun.
--My very first favorite poem when I was young: Dreams by Langston Hughes
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
