Good morning, Everyone! I was in a pretty raggy mood this morning but visiting this board and seeing all the posts (especially the kind thing that Chris said!) really cheered me up. So...let's keep this board going!! Here is today's roll call... 1. If you could eat one food that would never make you sick/gain weight, etc., what would it be? 2. Tell me one thing that you are thankful for today! 3. What are you wearing today? Is this something you would have worn two years ago? 4. Controversial Topic: If George W. could run for a third term, would you vote for him? 5. Complete the following sentences: ----If I were an animal, I would be a _________________________. ----If I were a color, I would be _____________________________. ----If I were a season, I would be ___________________________. 6. Finally...do you think therapy is an essential part of post-op life? Have a great day, Everyone! Jersey Mom

Here are my answers... 1. If you could eat one food that would never make you sick/gain weight, etc., what would it be? ~Either ice cream or Triscuits (depending on whether I am craving sweet or salty****ep TRYING to eat ice cream and it makes me sick every time! Triscuits do not make me sick but I avoid them because I LOVE them and can eat 100 of them (I eat them plain!!). 2. Tell me one thing that you are thankful for today! ~Okay, I created this question but have a hard time stopping at one. I am VERY thankful my son is coming home this weekend! And I will also throw in that I am still thankful for every member of this board! 3. What are you wearing today? Is this something you would have worn two years ago? ~I am wearing a fitted funky print short-sleeved top (in blues/greens/peach/pink/yellow...with a butterfly design and gold and silver rhinestone-type accents on it). I am also wearing a short black skirt, black panty hose and 4" stilettos (which puts me at 6'2"!). I have a silver crystal butterfly necklace on and crystal-accented silver hoop earrings. ~No, I never, ever would have considered wearing such a thing pre-op...so it is COOL (and, incidentally, is something else I am thankful for!). 4. Controversial Topic: If George W. could run for a third term, would you vote for him? ~ All I can say to this is F*** NO! I did not vote for him the first two times and I sure as F*** would not vote for him a third (but I do not judge anyone who did/would). 5. Complete the following sentences: ----If I were an animal, I would be a TIGER (they are beautiful and...top of the food chain, baby!). ----If I were a color, I would be ALL THE COLORS OF THE RAINBOW (can't just pick one!). ----If I were a season, I would be AUTUMN - colorful but tinged with a bit of melancholy. 6. Finally...do you think therapy is an essential part of post-op life? ~ I think it is probably a good idea and I think I probably should attempt it again. It was just SUCH a nightmare the first time that I am not sure I am brave enough to try again. The mere thought of it makes me sick to my stomach! I look forward to reading everyone's answers! Have a great day! Love and hugs, Jersey

What are you wearing today? Is this something you would have worn two years ago? Black jeans and a white tshirt with the Union Jack flag in the middle of a heart! Finally...do you think therapy is an essential part of post-op life? I think therapy should be a mandatory part even though I have not gone. Ok, Jersey...if you're gonna keep 'em coming, I will keep posting - LOL 1. The one food I would love to be able to eat is RICE. I love rice; but it makes me sick every stinkin' time. I would also like to be able to eat BEEF. Being from the Upper Midwest originally, BEEF is a 'good thing' and most of the time I can't get it down. 2. I am thankful for blue sky and sunshine in PA. I am also thankful for my urologist who fought a battle with my insurance company so I can have my bladder surgery tomorrow.. 3. I am wearing a pair of skinny leg jeans with boots and a long sweater coat. Yes, I would have worn this two years ago....although not in an extra small sweater and a size 4 jeans - LOL 4. Absolutely positively NOT. In fact, I bought the calendar COUNTDOWN TO GEORGE W OUT OF OFFICE. 5. Animal - puppy (I would like to be 'cute' just once - LOL) Color - Vibrant GREEN Season - WINTER 6. I think therapy SHOULD BE REQUIRED after WLS. The surgeons spent all kinds of time making sure we are 'stable' BEFORE surgery; but do very little to make sure we are STABLE afterwards. Wish me luck tomorrow. I'm not one who typically looks forward to surgery; but this time I am.....maybe I will get ONE of the things I wanted from WLS (since I didn't get the 'energy' or the 'running' - maybe this surgery will slow down or get rid of the 'incontinence' issue). Hi Sweet Girl! I am having a great day so far. I had an interview yesterday and am really interested in this company. Well they just called and I have a 2nd interview with them on Friday. The second interview at the company I talked to yesterday 3. What are you wearing today? Is this something you would have worn two years ago? Jeans and a tee shirt. I would have probably been in a bathrobe 2 years ago 4. Controversial Topic: If George W. could run for a third term, would you vote for him? Only if I had a nerves breakdown I believe that history with show that this administration has been the worst ever in US history. 5. you go girl, you sure are keeping me on the board, lol. 1. If you could eat one food that would never make you sick/gain weight, etc., what would it be? honestly, this is a very difficult question for me. The things I used to love, I have lost taste for so idon't even want them, and the things I do eat don't make me sick or gain weight(not yet at least) so I guess I don't have an answer. 2. Tell me one thing that you are thankful for today! i am glad you asked because I have been kinda grumpy today and I need to focus on the positive....I am sooo very thankful that I have a man in my life that loves me so much he is working two jobs and paying ALL my bills so I can finish college and start teaching. 3. What are you wearing today? Is this something you would have worn two years ago? a button down shirt with pink stripes and a long khaki skirt...I NEVER would have worn this first because it never would have fit, I also never wear pink, but since I have been told it looks great on me I wear it more, and also the shirt is a little short compared to what I used to wear, no skin shows, but my old clothes would have come down to my knees! 4. Controversial Topic: If George W. could run for a third term, would you vote for him? no 5. Complete the following sentences: ----If I were an animal, I would be a _cat________________________. ----If I were a color, I would be ___purple__________________________. ----If I were a season, I would be __fall_________________________. 6. Finally...do you think therapy is an essential part of post-op life? ABSOLUTELY!!! I think the majority of us needed it BEFORE surgery, and after all the physical and emotional changes we go through after surgery, it is definitely needed.

1. If you could eat one food that would never make you sick/gain weight, etc., what would it be? A hot fudge and carmel brownie sundae; rice; a big bowl of pasta with alfredo sauce; a Butterfinger. 2. Tell me one thing that you are thankful for today! My health, that I could have my belly fixed. That I have a new job and lifestyle that has eliminated so much stress and pressure in my life. And given me the ability to focus on what I am all about.... 3. What are you wearing today? Is this something you would have worn two years ago? I am boring....in the home office environment it's a big deal if I shower before noon. I have on capri black pants and a long sleeve tshirt. Yesterday I went into the city for dinner and had on a tight black skirt and sleeveless top with short purple jacket. the home outfit i would have worn 2 years ago but the outfit last night is all the new me. 4. Controversial Topic: If George W. could run for a third term, would you vote for him? No controversy in my mind. NO WAY. I agree that this will likely be known as the absolute worst administration ever. 5. Complete the following sentences: ----If I were an animal, I would be a _____dog or eagle_________. ----If I were a color, I would be ________purple or a deep raspberry__. ----If I were a season, I would be _______fall, full of color_________. 6. Finally...do you think therapy is an essential part of post-op life? Yes, very much so. I think about getting involved with it again, I face many of the same challenges even though my body is different. And having a different body has brought even more different challenges.
