"The Batchelor" e-mailed me yesterday!
This was so exciting. Brad Womack, the new "The Batchelor" that cranked up this last week on ABC graduated from Livingston HS way back when...I taught at the HS and knew him and his twin brother. He was always a good kid. After a couple of years, he worked in the oilfield industry w/ my husband. The show portrayed him on an oil rig for years, but he didn't do that long at all for Schlumberger. He worked about 7 years for the seismic surveying company my husband works for. I guess for ABC an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico sounded better!
Anyway...2 teachers that had taught him (I didn't) got an e-mail from Brad this week thanking him for an interview they did on a local news station about him. Someone forwarded it to me. Some of us thought it might be fake. I decided to e-mail him back at the address, figuring it would come back "undeliverable". An hour or so later I checked my e-mail at work and had the following (I had said we were proud to have an LHS grad represent us and how much respect my husband had for him and his brother for being so successful in business and that he even got my old coot of a husband watching the show this time):

Mrs. Lewis-
It is very good to hear from you. I can not tell you how much I think of "Mr. Ross". For him to say he has respect for Chad and I makes my day simply because the respect is returned ten fold. I think back very fondly to my days working with GLS and, in fact, miss those days dearly. I met some of the best people and friends I'll ever have while working there.
I don't know what I got myself into by being "The Bachelor" but all I can say is I promise I was my true self. I hope I make my family and community proud.
Thank you for the email and please tell Mr. Ross I said hello.
Brad
I was just in hog heaven when I got it. The address was for real. My husband was happy to when I read the e-mail from him.
