Skin Removal Pictures
Hi Everyone,
It's been a great week!! I am on the mend and healing quickly.
There's been no pain at all beyond the night of surgery when I truly enjoyed every drop of morphine. After I got home I took a total of 2 pain pills, the following evenings, to knock me out. I have been sore, tight and walking hunched over but again, no pain, just discomfort. I am taking it easy as I do tire quickly, of course. And I cant really bend over at the waist.
This morning they removed the bandages and WOW! Pictures are posted in my profile. I also included one of my belly the day I got home from WLS, just to remember how far I've come in this journey.
My new tummy is flat and other than a bit of swelling, I feel the tightness of the mesh underneath. There's a lot of fluids on my hips. 3x a day I am to massage it inwards and the drains will be with me until Wednesday. The incision is about 14 inches long, hip to hip - its a biggie but very thin. Alternatively, I had a biggie set of rolls on me which are GONE!!!!!
I'm not trying on any clothing until Wednesday when the drains come off. That's the plan, anyway, let's see if I succumb to the curiousity!
And that shower this morning felt sooo good - not only after 5 days of hospital/bed dirt but this was the first time I did not have to lift my belly to dry underneath it. I nearly cried with delight......
Have a great weekend!!

Thanks, Karyn! I had to think seriously about children, I am 40 - combined with this and lack of any decent boyfriend, it's pretty likely I'll never experience being pregnant. That never bothered me before but as i finalized everything for this procedure, it was something I really put thought to. God will bring children to me if and when it's meant to be.
