Hi Everyone, It's been a great week!! I am on the mend and healing quickly. There's been no pain at all beyond the night of surgery when I truly enjoyed every drop of morphine. After I got home I took a total of 2 pain pills, the following evenings, to knock me out. I have been sore, tight and walking hunched over but again, no pain, just discomfort. I am taking it easy as I do tire quickly, of course. And I cant really bend over at the waist. This morning they removed the bandages and WOW! Pictures are posted in my profile. I also included one of my belly the day I got home from WLS, just to remember how far I've come in this journey. My new tummy is flat and other than a bit of swelling, I feel the tightness of the mesh underneath. There's a lot of fluids on my hips. 3x a day I am to massage it inwards and the drains will be with me until Wednesday. The incision is about 14 inches long, hip to hip - its a biggie but very thin. Alternatively, I had a biggie set of rolls on me which are GONE!!!!! I'm not trying on any clothing until Wednesday when the drains come off. That's the plan, anyway, let's see if I succumb to the curiousity! And that shower this morning felt sooo good - not only after 5 days of hospital/bed dirt but this was the first time I did not have to lift my belly to dry underneath it. I nearly cried with delight...... Have a great weekend!! ~Tiffany

Tiffany, I am soooooo jealous of your flat tummy, you look great! I am holding off on doing anything until I have more children, but I seriously hope when i do it looks as good as yours, congrats girl! Karyn

Thanks, Karyn! I had to think seriously about children, I am 40 - combined with this and lack of any decent boyfriend, it's pretty likely I'll never experience being pregnant. That never bothered me before but as i finalized everything for this procedure, it was something I really put thought to. God will bring children to me if and when it's meant to be. Tiffany

Well look at you! You have a waist I'm so glad this was a good experience for you. I've heard so many horror stories that I was really afraid to pursue this for me. Now I am going to have to re-think this. By the way, did your insurance cover any of this was was it a self-pay?

Thanks Ronna!!! I think the experience varies by person and surgeon. I had a hernia (2 , actually) that needed repair which gave me a medical reason for surgery. So my hosp costs were covered for that. And I paid my surgeon extra for the skin removal.

Tiffany, you look great! I'm glad your surgery went well and you haven't had much pain. I'll be right behind you with my 3rd attempt at a lower body lift on Nov. 13. My hemoglobin is coming back up, so it should be a go this time. I know you'll look great when you get to try on clothes! Karla
