Today is MY day to RYP

OK ladies, I am starting the RYP plan today. I have 4 kinds of protein powders ready to go for these next two days. Vanilla for the coffee latte this AM, Strawberry, Banana Yogurt and Almond Coconut for variety the rest of the day. I think I will aim for 5 shakes today. If I have time, I will plug the nutritional information into fitday and see what it looks like with calories and such and update later in the day. I held steady over the weekend and weigh 212.8 still, no change from last week. I make my protein drinks with skim milk. I hope that is ok on the plan. That is what I am going with anyway. I hope I do not have the same side effect that Ronna had - I don't have time for all of that! God Bless! Jen

Good for you Jen Don't you think 5 shakes is a lot? I only had 3 and that gave me 99 grams of protein for the day which is right where I try to hit normally. Anyway the side effects were due to me coming down with a bad cold (which I'm dealing with now). So hopefully you'll be OK. Good luck Ronna

Ronna, I am breastfeeding Faith exclusively. Currently, I am not giving her any formula. I need to make sure I do not eat too little to reduce my milk supply. So I "need" at least 1800 calories per day. Anything below 1500 for a "normal" BF mother is considered too low according to La Leche League. Also, if you burn fat too fast (yeah right) the toxins in your body cross your breast milk in higher numbers (mercury etc) and I don't want that either. So my plan for today is the 5 shakes, a banana, two red peppers and probably some cheese and coleslaw. That only gives me 1580 calories so I may have something else depending on how I feel.
