I am 1 year and 7 months since surgery and this summer I've gained 10 lbs is this normal? Concerned as to what to do and to what my diet should consist of at this time frame since surgery. I need to get some advice to make sure I'm eating right and how much I'm suppose to be eating everyday! Thank you Crystal

Hi Crystal, I think we all need to expect some "rebound" weight gain. I've gained about 6lbs. My Dr. said that some weight gain is normal. Because I'm not happy with the 6lbs, I've gone back to basics - you know, the program just after surgery. Smaller portions, high protein, increasing my water intake - those sorts of things. Again, my doc says it's normal to have some weight gain after loosing. I actually lost below my goal weight, so this little gain could just be where my body feels most comfortable. As far as how much you are eating, that's really up to you. Are you exercising? I range between 800-1000 calories per day and am doing 45 minutes of cardio every day and I've still gained those 6lbs, but I put that down to some poor food choices. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I get this all the time, "work the program, use your tool". good luck. Kim

Hey Crystal. It's perfectly normal for us to gain some of our weight back. For some, our bodies just want to be at a certain weight. If you feel as though you would like to lose some more, you could always go back to basics and increase your exercise. Give it a try sometiime and see if it works! Good luck and keep us posted. April

Yes, you're wt. gain is normal. Just remember to get back to exercise and protein and you can take off those few pounds and maintain. It does get hard at time. Give yourself an upper wt. limit and go back to basics when you hit it! Karla

Just before I reached my goal weight my body fought to hold onto those last 20 Lbs. It seemed that nothing I did back to basics and more exercise broke the plateu. I got fustrated and put the scale up for 3 months. My new clothes started to feel loose and I dug out the scale and hopped on. I was 10 Lbs under my goal, I've been just trying to maintain 150 for the last 3 months. I fluxuate beteen 2 and 7 Lbs, Salt seems to be what keeps the weight on for me. Hope this helps April Showers

I wish I could go back to that tiny tummy. OH how I wish I was back to Jan.31,2006..... And how do I stop eating all the junk since it goes down so easy. I guess I really need to pay mor attention on what I am consuming...... Hope someone out there can help. Ellie
