Struggling to get back on track

Hey my fellow Januaries: I know that we all use this board for accountability at times, so here's my confession. Before my LBL, I was doing fine -- no problems at all staying on track, getting my vitamins and protein in, exercising regularly, etc. Staying at home for 7 weeks just threw me off. I am really struggling with getting back into an exercise routine (heck -- just exercise right now, routine comes later), getting my protein intake back up, and eating right. I am eating CRAP with a capital CRAP! I am struggling with stopping when I am full and not having that extra bite (or 5 or 10). I have only gained back about 5 pounds (which as we all know could be swelling), BUT I don't want to fall into the thought patterns of thinking I can ever eat normal again. Because the bottom line is that I can't. I KNOW what needs to be done, I'm just having a heck of a time doing it. Just wanted to confess and unburden myself -- thanks for listening. Lisa

Oh Lisa (((HUGS)))) We all fall off and dust those heals off and get back up! Tommorrow is a new day to work on water, exercise, protein and putting the CRAP down My friend finds if he is setting at the table and is finished he pours something on the plate to make it untouchable like a packet of salt or sugar mound. Especially if he's out at a restaurant chatting. I thought what a great idea!! Then I am done and won't touch anything else on the plate. I do have problems even getting enough in but I've had problems and still have good/bad days. My days may differ but I am just like everyone else with temptations and lazy days! I am praying for you as you begin your day tommorrow! And more importantly Lisa you've had so much success so far! (Hugs) Julie

Hi Julie! What a great idea on pouring a little liquid on your plate. I would have never thought of doing that. Thank you so much for your good words, too. How have you been feeling? Lisa

Tomorrow is a new day Lisa, you can do it. You probably are still swollen from the plastics and are still healing. Just go back to basics and get back on the train.

Carly, I do notice that some days the swelling is much worse than others and those are usually the days that I want to just comfort eat. I've been trying to eliminate those bad carbs and climb back on board. Thanks! Lisa

Lisa, it's so easy to kind of fall off the train when something is going on. But you've realized you need to make some changes, so I have no doubts you'll be doing what you have to do to make the change. You are certainly not alone in this struggle! April

Hey April, I realize that each one of us is not entirely unique in our struggles and that's why I came back "home" -- to you and the other wonderful ladies who are right up there with me. Baby steps... Lisa

Lisa, You are going to swell for like 6 months more in the late afternoon-evening so if you weigh do it in the am. I am sure you will get back on track ............. HAVE A GREAT DAY TORI

OMG, Tori! Some days I look like I'm eight months pregnant and about to drop because of the swelling. It's all in my upper tummy, too, hardly ever the lower part. And, as a former fat girl, I have my weigh-in rituals. LOL -- always first things in the morning, after my shower, dried hair, butt-nekkid. Lisa

Lisa, I feel the same way as you do. Having 7 1/2 weeks off this summer has not been the best for eating choices. I'm glad I'm back at work, but need to buckle down and do what I need to do. I'd like to take off 10-20 more lbs. before my lbl in November now that I have the chance. Hang in there and make the right choices. I'm going to start next Monday on the plateau buster to get a good start. Some of us on the TX board will be doing it. Join in and we can do it on this board at the same time if we need to. Karla
