Karla's Lower Body Lift

Well, since I'm already home and posting, you can probably figure out that lower body lift attempt #2 didn't go very well. I had a choice of possibly bleeding to death or walk away with my low hemoglobin level and my extra skin/fat. I guess I can live with the skin awhile longer. When I got to the Hermann facility, I kept telling them to check my hemoglobin level. Dr. Wainwright was already there before they did, and naturally they insisted on sticking the IV in and all that and then doing a butterfly thing to draw blood for the blood test. It hadn't come up anymore, iron shots and everything...will take awhile. Dr. W is going to get w/ my bypass surgeon and/or my PCP and get some tests done to make sure I'm not leaking blood somewhere and try some other kinds of stuff to up my blood. He went out and talked to my family. I just hated that my 75 yr. old dad made a 2nd trip from Wimberly for nothing. We visited until 10:00 eating breakfast and then went to Arnie's shopping for my niece's wedding and then to Bath, Bed and Beyond to shop for my mom's new remodeled bathroom. My sister and I ate at Pappa's and got home at 3:30 this afternoon. My husband and Ben came on home after Arnie's. Thanks so much to all of you who prayed for me and wished me well on surgery. I know it will happen in November. Third times a charm! Karla

Sorry you had to go thru all this only to head home. Especially the IV and your Dad traveling in. Keep us updated on what kinds of tests they so to check for blood leakages. Hopefully they all come back as normal! ~Tiffany

Karla, I know it's a huge thing to get all psyched up for surgery, I don't know if I will able to ever do it again..So I understand it heeps lots of mental stress on you, however if you could die it is better to wait and see if they can get your Iron up. I bet it is because you gave all of that blood my Dr explained to me the reason mine was down to (8) was because I lost that pint of blood with my Hematoma and that it would take a few months to get it back up again if I didn't get a blood transfusion. I understand it is a major bummer but try not to get depressed about it. I am sure it will happen soon. HAVE A GREAT EVENING TORI
