Thank You all so much for the support and well wishes.. I am home everything went well, the Dr said it was a good thing he did the surgery he removed about a handful of blod clots that did not come out with the suction and would have caused infections or other problems. My hemagloben was low like Karla normal is 12 mine was 8, he said it was from the loss of blood and he said wls patients tend to run a little lower like 10. He suggested I either go get a transfusion or start trying to bring it up on my own which would take longer but as long as it works to keep watching it, so on the way home we went and bought some Iron pills and vitamin c to help it absorb we also pulled out a book that tells Iron rich foods, did you know if you cook in an Iron skillit (sp) it will increase your Iron ? I will let you know how it goes. Well I am back to bed have a great evening Tori

Glad you are better. A note on iron, this is from my surgeon and how I got my last hemo back up in record time. Iron rich foods are really no good, we don't get iron from them that well. Suppliments help, but foods with iron added is the best. I found Grape Nuts has the highest amount of iron added. I did a lot of research on this. I upped my iron vit. from 2 a day to 3 and ate grapenuts, I was around 9 at release and 12 in 2 weeks. So just some info on iron. One last thing, greens are no good at all, even iron high ones, it is not absorbed. Liver is highest, but again, little is taken in by us.

Glad everything went okay Tori and that you are taken care of. I hope it heals well this time. From everything I've read, foods w/ iron don't raise it much either, said it would take months. I'm taking 2 chelated iron from GNC (supposed to be absorped easier) w/ vitamin C. My PCP also gave me a B12 shot Monday. Before he did, my hemoglobin had gone from a 9.2 to a 10.2 in less than a week, and I'm getting it checked again Thursday and hope it will be up more so I can have my surgery on the 31st. Prayers going out for you to heal more easily this time. Hang in there. Karla

I'm so glad you're doing better I have to take iron supplements as I've always been anemic. I get it at Walgreens. You just have to make sure you don't take your iron the same time you take your calcium as the calcium seems to cancel out the iron. So I take my calcium during the day and my iron before bed.

So glad to hear you're doing better. Make sure you get enough rest. Try to take it easy for a few weeks. Sometimes, these things happen without cause unfortunately. Just make sure you follow your docs orders and rest easy. Thanks for updating us! April
