I have a serious question....that has been bothering me. I have only lost about 4 pounds in the last 6 months, really since my 1 year anniversay date. Am I doing something horribly wrong or is this normal? I feel like I could have done more. I have lost a total of 125 pounds and I am now wearing a size 14 in misses clothing, which is wonderful for me....but should I have been able to lose more. I go back to my surgeon next week and am so afraid he will be disappointed in my progress. Can anyone help me get going again or help reassure me? Thanks everyone! Chrstie

Congrats on the 125 pound lose Christie. What was your starting weight, height & age? That all plays a role in how much you'll lose. Also do you exercise regulary & follow a healthy diet. Try to give us a little more info so we can help. Carly

Thanks for the reponses! I was 303 starting....and short 5'2" and I was 34 at time of surgery. I am actually a tad under the size I was in high school so I think that is saying a lot and I am very happy with my results....I could exercise more and I could eat better....I need more time to plan my meals and stuff.....but I am pleased I just didn't know if I should have lost more weight during these 6 months. The surgery was definately a blessing for me though. Thanks again... Christie

I understand how you feel, I'm also short 5'2". Has your doctor said he is pleased with the results? I think you've done a wonderful job but like you said you'd like to lose more. I believe that is possible through exercise & healthy eating. You've come to the right place for support & we'd be happy to help you in any way.

Hi Christie, I don't know if you could have done more or not. Only you know that answer. How are you eating? are you exercising? I think 125# is a great weight loss. As for myself I lost 105# and have not lost 1# since Jan. I could do more but I guess I'm comfortable where I am. My Dr. was very pleased with my weight loss last month when I seen him. So I'm guessing your Dr. will be happy with your weightloss also. Most important thing is...... Are YOU happy with your weightloss? Hugs, Anna

Me too!! I have actually gained #10 since Dec. My clothes fit the same and I exercise so I know some is muscle. I am a 12-14 which looks good on me but I would like to lose another 30 lbs and wear a 8-10. I do not eat great all the time but I don't feast on junk like I use to. I am thinking about starting ALLI. I have actually bought it but have not taken a cap yet. I am afraid of the diarrhea and other side effects. Wendy

Hi Wendy! You DO NOT need to lose 30 lbs. to get to size 8-10 girl!!! Believe me...it'll be way less than that probably. A 12-14 is really good as well, but it all depends on your personal goal. Make sure you check with your surgeon regarding taking meds for weightloss. Also, weigh****chers is great tool a well to rid a few lbs. here and there. April

Hi Christie. I certainly don't think you're doing anything "horribly wrong." Horribly wrong is if you gained your 125 lbs. back! 125 lbs. weightloss is great! That's about how much I've lost. Some people hit a spot were that's all they're able to lose. That's all their bodies want to lose. Also, it depends on how you feel at this point. If you feel as though you want to lose more weight, consult with your doc and dietician. And if you're not exercising...bump that up a bit. Exercising ALWAYS helps! Keep us posted. April

Hi Christie I don't think you have done anything wrong. 125 pounds is amazing. I started at 327 and have gotten down to 197 but then I go up and down the same 5 pounds and have for the past 5 months. I would like to lose another 20-30 pounds but if I don't I will be very happy with were I am as my doctor's goal for me was 200 pounds and I did get there. What did your surgeon say about total weight loss for you? Everyone is different so you really should compare yourself with what others have done. What was the plan for you? Regards and hugs, Ronna

I have lost and gained about 5 pounds back and forth since January so I feel I must be where I am supposed to be. If you have stopped loosing maybe you are just where you are supposed to be. I agree with April (she is a nurse) don't take anything your Dr doesn't ok, it might really mess you up. I think you have lost a great amount of weight...... HAVE A GREAT DAY TORI
