Consultation with Plastic Surgeon
Hi everyone,
I had my consultation today with the Nurse Practitioner. She was excellent and explained all that could happen. Then she took pictures for insurance approval and when she took one look at me she said my insurance probably wouldn't pay for the panniculectomy because my belly doesn't hang far enough down most of my loose skin is right in the middle of my stomach and she said, I would be a better candidate for a tummy tuck but insurance won't pay for that because it's concidered cosmetic. She thinks they might actually pay for my breast lift because the girls DO hang wayyyyy down there. So now it's a wait and see process. If I have to pay for it myself this is the prices.
Breast lift $5,000.00
Abdomino plasty (tummy tuck) $6,000.00
Panniculectomy $4,500.00
If the insurance company will pay for one I will be happy and pay for the other. She said, he would do both at the same time so that would be great!
Hugs,
Anna
My doc said insurance would probably pay for my "girls" as well as they are totally deflated and after the lumpectomy last fall my right one is a whole 2" shorter than the left one
But I really need my arms done. That's what bothers me the most.
Like you I don't have much loose skin around my tummy but I do have it around the back, under where my bra goes.
Oh well, one can dream. I need to get a job first so I can save up.
Keeping fingers crossed for you
Ronna
Anna,
Sorry to hear about the panni, but it can happen right? If you get the "girls" done and have to and are able to pay for the other than it might not be so bad. Won't the Abdominoplasty take care of the pannis as well? From what I understand the way the cut is made with the abdominoplasty the panniculectomy might not be necessary. Good luck. I hope you get approved. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! Keep us posted.

Hi Norma,
You are correct. It can happen. If the insurance will pay for the "girls" I will pay for the tummy tuck and that will take care of the panni. If the insurance will pay for the panni and not the "girls" I will pay for them. I'm just hoping the insurance will pay for one of the procedures.
Thanks for keeping your fingers crossed!
Hugs,
Anna
