My post-LBL pics
Hey my fellow January sisters (and bros). I had my wonderful hubby take my pics this morning and I posted the side-by-sides on my profile if you all want to look. The befores are "nekkid" pics, but the skin hangs so low that you really can't see much, but there's your warning. They were taken about 2 months before my lower body lift. The afters were taken this morning at 3 weeks post.

OMG Lisa, you look GREAT. Your stomach looks exactly like mine except I'm a little darker and i have 2 hernia's so mine sticks out a little. I know you feel great!!
I hope you don't mind me asking but does insurance pay for LBL or was that out of pocket?? I'm ready to have one done. I'm sick of the skin.
Kay
Hey Kay!
Thanks for the good words. My insurance paid for the front part of the LBL, and I had to come up with the $$$ for the back part. My surgeon was wonderful, though, so out of a nearly $20,000 surgery, I was only responsible for $2500.
I had nearly a year's worth of chiropractor visits documenting the back pain and statements from my 2 chiros AND my regular doc stating that they believed the back pain was due to and could be alleviated by the removal of the excess skin. Along with those medical records and doc letters, I also sent through a 3-page personal statement, outlining what living with this excess was like on a daily basis. I was approved first time through with no difficulties.
It was disheartening to have lost nearly 185 pounds and still see that horrible ring of fat and skin around my middle. Getting rid of it has done more for my self-esteem (which is normally CRAP) in the last three weeks than losing all the weight has done so far.
