I thought I'd post something this morning. As I am battling the last 24lbs to lose, I have become discouraged and started thinking, "What the heck, I should just eat anything I want" self defeating behavior, YES!!! I guess, I am just to that last bump in the journey and I am ticked that I just can't get there, it's seeing the rainbow and it keeps moving on ya. So, I decided to think of all the things I have been able to do with the weightloss that I've acheived thus far. 1. Walking to the mailbox without huffing and puffing 2. Going out to concerts, baseball games and other places that include other people...ha ha 3. Getting on my Mtn bike for the first time in like 10yrs and riding around town without passing out. 4. Greatest acheivement Running on Treadmill for 40mins going 5.5mph, not fast but WOW!!! 5. Having children be able to give me a hug and their little arms go around me, especially my nephews who said "Look my hands touch in the back of you Aunt Kelli." Greatest feeling!! Anywho, thought I'd post something positive to keep me aware of where I've come in such little time and not to be upset but to bask in the glory. Take Care!!! Keep focused on the journey but always look back at the acheivements we have all made. Kelli

Kelli, I too am struggling with the last 20-30lbs. But going from a 24-26 to a 12 has been wonderful. I love going to the ball field with my kids and not being the "fat" mom. I love harmless flirting, which I never did before! I so enjoy finding clothes that fit and look good. We can get those last few off. A year and a half ago we had a lot more that a few pounds to lose. Wendy

That is true, I can remember when I first had the surgery I was like how can I lose even 50lbs. I remember losing 100lbs and thinking if I stopped there I'd be happy, but I guess we are never truly happy. However, only having 24lbs to go...I am okay! I just need to get my brain wrapped around that idea. Thanks for sharing!! Kelli

Good post, Kelli. WLS has given me my life back in so many ways. 1. Hopefully I have added years to my life by staving off the diabetes, hbp, etc. that runs in my family. 2. I can run! 3. Going out in public is no longer an ordeal because I'm the biggest one wherever we are. 4. I have successfully changed the diet habits of the family -- for the better most of the time. Lisa

Great post Kelli! There is so much, I don't know where to begin? 1. I can get up out of a chair without assistance 2. I can walk more than a few steps without needing to sit down 3. I can walk my dog 4. I can drive again 5. I can go out to the store and do my own shopping 6. I can go on a job interview and feel confident and attractive 7. I can go to a party and not be the "fattest" person in the room. 8. I can fit into an airplane seat with room to spare 9. I can go to the movies and walk down the isle even if it's on an incline and not fall over. And I can fit into their seats too 10. I can go to the bathroon without a problem and clean myself properly 11. I can take a shower without a problem 12. I can put on socks and shoes with laces and tie them 13. I can stand and cook a meal without my back killing me 14. All in all, I can function as a "normal" person.

Kelli~ great post sorry i am a day late on it. This weight loss journey has been amazing! I never thought I would be where I am today! There are so many things i can do now. 1. I am off 9 meds and 400 units of insulin (4x a day) 2. Running on the treadmill, or shall I just say running in general 3. Getting hit on! 4. Men holding doors for me and saying hi more. 5. Crossing my legs and being able to feel like a lady when I sit down 6. Not being the "fattest" one anymore. 7. Weighing alot less than my sister who always ridiculed me for my weight. (now she is the one that is packing on the pounds. I wont say anything since I remember how it hurt me so when she did it to me) 8. Clothes shopping in the misses and juniors section 9. Getting a hug and their arms go all the way around! Your right Kelli that is the greatest feeling! 10. Having my life back!!!!!! Ok I have rambled enough and could go on forever. Have a great weekend all Suzette
