I'm Home!

My wonderful hubs and I got home earlier this morning. I'm feeling pretty good, sore, but good. The first few hours were really rough and getting in and out of bed that first time was a booger, but today - two days past - everything is much more tolerable. Thanks, Jen, for posting the update. I appreciate all the well-wishes from my fellow board members, too! You ladies are such a wonderful support. Even when I don't post regularly, I read and get inspiration regularly. Dr. Wainwright said that they removed 16 pounds of skin and tissue. I was afraid to look at myself in the hospital, but caught a glimpse of myself when we got home earlier and immediately started crying like a girl (which, by the way, hurt worse than anything so far). LOL -- Even with the swelling and all, my stomach looks soooo much better. There is NO apron - none. I haven't seen flat belly like that since I was a teenager. I cannot even imagine what I will look like when the swelling goes down. Thank goodness for vicodin and my laptop! Lisa

Tori, Day three and I am already moving around much better. I no longer look like a drunk staggering around the house, anyway. LOL. The pain hasn't been so bad, but the soreness (especially around the tight part of the binder and the drains) is tough. I am right on top of the vicodin, though. Lisa

Glad to hear that you're home and doing well. Take it easy and don't be afraid to take that vicodin when you need to. I'll be looking for pictures soon OK? Sending hugs, Ronna

No worries about taking the vicodin! LOL -- I am regularly counting down my every 4 hours. My hubs took before pictures, but I don't have any afters. I probably won't take any of those until after the drains come out (just to save others the "ook" factor). Lisa

Thanks, Carly! I am trying to rest, but it's been hard turning off the brain. I feel good, though, considering that it's only been three days. I sleep when I need to, but sleeping sitting up in the recliner has been a little tough. Especially since I'm a flat out on the belly sleeper. :D Lisa

Thanks, Suzette! I try to come and post more, but life sometimes interferes, you know? Between work and kids and church, sometimes I have time JUST to read and not to post. No worries the next few weeks, though! LOL -- You ladies will be getting tired of me I'll be monitoring yall so much! Lisa
