I'm Moving!
Yes, that's right. I have made the decision to skip bail and spread my wings- I'm leavin' my parents' nest!
Tommy and I are moving down to Los Angeles where he has family and we'll be attending school in Cerritos. Then I plan on transfering to Cal State Long Beach.
I already have a job lined up and everything! I called the Jack in the Box down the road from where I wanna live and the Manager said she'd have a spot open for me! I get to keep my title and pay also! Whoooo hooooo
I am soooo excited!
So... chickadees, I need your advise. How do I pack? what do I pack? Anyone wanna use me as a charity and give me extra stuff? hehehehe, just kidding! But I am serious on how and what to packs, etc. We'll be in an apartment or mobile home, etc... something small for now.... so what do I take!

Jaci!!
HOW EXCITING!!! How absolutely exciting! Were your parents okay with your decision? I hope they are thrilled for you...
How far is L.A. from where you live now? That will make a difference in how much stuff you can bring. When I moved into a condo from my parents house, it was (thankfully!) only 5 minutes away so I did not have to bring a lot. If I desperately needed something, I could go home and get it from the attic.
I think you are going to need to determine exactly where you are going to live to see how much space you will have. Then you will have a better idea of what you can bring.
Please keep up posted! And congratulations on the move!

Good for you Babygirl
I wish you both all the luck in the world.
When I first moved out of my parents house, I had nothing. I moved out with a single bed, night stand, pole lamp and a laundry hamper full of clothes. That was it.
But then I went shopping in relatives and friends parents basements and ended up with alot of cool things like:
A TV that actually worked - it was black and white though
A large rug (the apartment had wood floors)
A kitchen set - table and 4 chairs
Dishes and flateware
A couch and 2 chairs for the living room
The apartment was only 21/2 rooms so I didn't need much to fill it up
Another good idea is garage sales and resale shops. But wait until you get into the apartment so you know how much room you have.
Enjoy!!!!
Sending hugs
