Did you watch Big Medicine?
Morning!
Did anyone watch Big Medicine last night? It was okay but I suspect it will get old very quickly because it is going to be the same thing week after week.
And I have one small gripe... I would like them to showcase someone who has plastic surgery and is over the age of 35. Plastic surgery on 19 and 22 year olds are ALWAYS going to have better results...so I would like to see a little variety.
I thought the only interesting part of the show was the continuation of Allen's story (hmm...am I right about his name?). I really hope he pulls through it all!
So did anyone else watch it? What did you think?

I watched it and yes I agree it needs some variety. The storys are basiclly all the same and they don't show long term results. I'd like to see how the patients do a year from now. Also yes I agree I'd like to see plastic surgery patients older than 20.
I'm also hoping that Allen pulls through, he is strong willed and deserves a second chance.
I didn't get to watch all of it. Unfortunately, it is right across from Hell's Kitchen and I LOVE THAT SHOW and across from the hockey game (Stanley Cup finals). Needless to say there was lots of 'channel' flipping..........
Actually I found the Brookhaven Clinic series that was on Sunday WAY more interesting. They talked more about the whole 'food addiction' thing......unfortunately I was only able to catch bits and pieces of it, too. Sitting down and watching a complete television program is difficult for me..........

The young doc was my surgeon and I would really love to see the show but we do not subscribe to cable/dish TV so I am missing it.
The girl who had the plastic surgery is very young and she was "only" 250 to begin with. She does not have any kids so she has much better skin than "we" do, you know, more elasticity - not being stretched with a kiddo etc...
The surgeons and Tesha did an interview with ivillage yesterday... if you are interessted - the whole thing is about 18 mins long ... http://ivillagelive.ivillage.com/on_demand/watch
Here is a link to a picture ablum of a woman from the TX board who used Dr LoMonaco (the one on the show) www.picturetrail.com - dancindonna, click on my album, password recovery. She is quite a bit older than us but you can see a big change and some significant improvement in her.
I watched it and agree that the really intereting part was following the ongoing story of Allen.
I also wish they would shake it up a bit with the PS stuff. Agree that doing it on babies is way different. Although last week the girl that had it done had much much more sagging and wrinkles in her skin then I do at 54 Compared to her, mine should be a breeze.
Yea I have to agree with you Jersey, it's like rehashing the same thing over and over again. However, I do know that they will be doing some lapbanders because we have the daughter/sister of the two doctors on our board, so that should be interesting. I just hope all goes well with Allen, when they were showing all the blood spurting in his stomach had me really nervous for him. I also seem to think that the mother is going to try and sabotage all his efforts. I think she is not really ready to let him be his own person, and I think she will use food to keep him with her...I hope I am wrong, but that is the feeling I am getting.

I totally agree with you on this one. I am sure the producers do some creative editing of the show but did you notice that the Mom NEVER looked happy? Even when Allen found out he was approved? I mean, I understand fully that she is probably terrified of the surgery but she MUST be intelligent to know that his living at this weight will just as likely kill him (MORE than likely, actually).
I hope that woman gets herself some therapy if Allen succeeds with this. She lived her whole life for him. She is going to crash and burn when he stops needing her.
I am hoping the best for all of them...
