Tuesday Roll Call
Good day, everyone!
VERY slow board day today so let's have a roll call!
1. What did you do this weekend?
2. Have you done anything recently that you would not have/could not have done prior to having WLS?
3. Do you still think of food as much now as you did pre-WLS?
4. Did you catch "Big Medicine" and, if so, what did you think of it?
5. What are your plans for next weekend?
Not the most exciting questions but it is all I could come up with for now!
Hugs,
Jersey
1. What did you do this weekend?
-- I did SO MUCH this weekend! On Friday night, we took Jersey Kid to our local carnival. My 2½ year old went on the Merry-Go-Round and Little Train (age-appropriate) and then went on the Himalaya (a ride that goes round and round VERY fast), the Scrambler (another ride that goes around fast) and then went on the Buccaneer (the big boat that swings back and forth high in the air). He loved every ride but the Buccaneer. He freaked on that one! But I was impressed with him, anyhow!
-- On Saturday we took out and cleaned all the patio furniture and I swept the deck. I also got on my hands and knees and, with a screwdriver, pried all the twirly birds out of every crevice of of the deck. This took hours!
-- On Sunday we installed the A/C units (3 of them). The one that goes in my room has to be installed from the outside so we had to tie a rope to it, get on the roof, and drag it up! It is REALLY heavy and I hate heights but at least it got done! We also took the pool cover off and I spend two hours washing it and removing the dirt and leaves from it.
-- On Monday I vacuumed the pool for the first time. Our pool was installed in the early 80's so it is much larger than the pools they install today. Vacuuming it took forever and is very manually intensive. Then I swept all the concrete around the pool. It was covered in leaves, dirt and twirly birds...I cannot believe how much accumulates during the winter. I did a lot of squatting to get the smaller particles with the dustpan and broom. We finished up all the rest of the chores and then played football at night.
-- I AM SOOO SORE...bruised and blistered...but the hard part is over with! We were going to plant flowers but did not get to it.
2. Have you done anything recently that you would not have/could not have done prior to having WLS?
-- I do not think I could have done ANY of the chores I did this weekend pre-WLS. PLUS take care of my child. I worked from sun up to sun down this weekend and rested very little. This absolutely would not have been the case pre-WLS.
3. Do you still think of food as much now as you did pre-WLS?
-- Sadly, I think I do. Sucks, doesn't it?
4. Did you catch "Big Medicine" and, if so, what did you think of it?
-- I thought it was great...very interesting and the hour flew by! I was hoping it was a 2-hour kick-off. I love how it showcased a person whose story will continue next week, a person who had a 6-month follow-up and, most importantly (to me now) a plastic surgery patient. Although the plastic surgery girl depressed me a little because I know I will NEVER look as good as she does...even post-PS! She was gorgeous!
5. What are your plans for next weekend?
-- We will definitely do the planting we did not do this weekend. Hopefully, though, we can actually RELAX a little bit! Now that would be nice!
Have a great day everyone!
