Ulcer bleed came back
I realized Sun. that I was bleeding again. Last time was when I was in Canada. So my surgeon sent me to the hospital and admitted me. Hemo was down, but not life threatening yet so they scheduled the scope for Mon. It took for ever to get to it, 6pm Mon. actually (read my profile to see how well I handled it, not). They found the bleed and ulcer, Canada couldn't find one. Doc said it was this big (holding hands out to the size of a basket ball) and a vessell in the middle this big (thumb to first finger about the size of a very large thumb) They cartarized the bleed. I am on meds now, several. One for the rest of my life we figure. I was in alot of pain yesterday, the ulcer really never hurt until they touched it. Oh and they did the scope both ways. So I had major gas pain. But I am on the mend again. Blood is low, so I am weak and tired, but getting better.
Just thought I would throw in the update here. Remember, you don't always have pain from ulcers. A change in the stool to dark brown or tar color is a major sign, that and being dizzy. Please, keep track of your body and be safe.
Right now I am on softer foods, others hurt to eat. There are no food restrictions as food has nothing to do with these ulcers. It is stomach acids only. Non WLS ulcers are caused by bacteria that feed off spicy foods, that is why there is food restrictions on those. So I can eat what I can tollerate. My mom is worried because I am not eating alot. I still wont eat high calorie foods, she doesn't understand this, she thinks I am going to loose more weight durring the healing time. I really can't stand to loose anymore. But I am drinking 2 protein drinks a day, more if I think I need it, so I will be careful.
I hope you all have a great 3 day weekend. I start a new job next week. Driving to and from Atlanta GA each week with the hubby making some real good money, home at least 2 days a week, better than being on tour. Miss the tours, but not the days away. Love to you all.
