LBL in Three Weeks
Hey all! I pop in every other day or so to keep up, and I have to say that we have a fairly active and supportive board. Woo us!
I just wanted to let you all know that I am scheduled for my lower body lift on June 13, just about three weeks away. I'm beginning to get a little anxious about the procedure, but my wonderful husband just keeps talking to me about how far I've come, how much better the quality of life will be, etc. I'm mentally ready to get rid of this belly that I've carried around for so many years now. On the other hand, though, I can't imagine NOT having this belly that I've carried around for so many years now. For nearly 20 years I've had this apron in some way, shape or form and the idea of it just disappearing overnight (literally LOL) is a little odd -- almost like losing a fundamental part of myself.
The only other thing that ooks me out like this is imagining new breastages next year. I'm all about the lift, but placing implants is just a little ooky -- foreign bodies in my body, you know?
Anyone here on the board who has had this LBL, if you can tell me some of your post-op helps, I'd appreciate it. What helped you the most the couple of weeks after. What you needed -- what you didn't need, etc.
Anywho -- that's the update.
How are you feeling, Karla? Has the worst of the soreness passed? Do you still have to wear the compression garment?
My last visit before surgery with Dr. W is next week on the 31st. That's when I get all the instructions and last-min tests, blood donation, etc. My last day of work will be June 8 and I don't plan to go bac****il July 30. I might go back sooner, but I'll wait and see.
Hey Carly!
You'll have to give details on the breast lift. I was told by three of the plastics surgeons that I consulted with that they wouldn't do the LBL and the lift at the same time, to choose which area I wanted done first. I figured with enough underwire and lycra I can live with the boobs for another year, but the 25 pounds of skin has GOT to go.
LISA,
I had my LBL in January, its a rough recovery but once you get over the hump you feel so much better and look great to, I never would have thought I would ever be able to wear a two piece again but I have been and my tummy and butt look great now on to the arms and boobs and I will feel 100% ..........
HAVE A GREAT DAY
TORI
I remembered you had this done. How long does the "rough" period last? Couple of weeks? Longer?
Did the LBL make the tops of your thighs look any better? What about the "side-boob?" Did any of that go away at all? I know that the LBL doesn't typically take care of much of that, but I am always and eternally hopeful. LOL.
