Good Evening ladies First of all let me say Thanks to everyone for asking about my dad! His is home now, thank God! After running test, they found out that it was a blood clot that caused the stroke. The Dr's said that he is blessed that it didn't burst! His speech is a little slow but overall, he is doing great... a lot better than expected. They are now adjusting his medication to figure out what they can do to prevent this from happening again. Ok on to the Protein Train. I really need this. I have not been tracking my protein and this weekend, I ate out a lot so I also need to get back on track. The only rules for the protein train is just to make protein your first choice when eating. Aim for 100 grams of protein a day but no lower than 85 grams. Everyday I will do a "protein train" post so we can be accountable. Come check in with me again if your gonna ride the train for the next 10 days!! I'm sorry I couldn't continue the first train. This time I'm riding all the way through!! G'Night and Remember PROTEIN FIRST!! Kay

I'm glad you found out what was wrong with your dad. Hopefully they'll get him on the right track. Protein wise today, I had 2 protein drinks, ate some BBQ brisket & a deviled egg at a picnic, meatloaf for supper w/ navy beans, and some cottage cheese w/ strawberries before bedtime. I probably had at least my 85 grams, but didn't take in a whole lot of food except at the picnic. I was busy and so full I didn't eat a thing until supper, just drank 2 cups decaf coffee! Have a good day. Karla

Karla, I had bbq pork on Saturday I put a pork loin in the Crockpot with a 1/2 of bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's bbq sauce....It made me so sick after I felt better I looked at the lable it has 17 sugars for 2 tbs and the first ingrediant was Sugar/corn syrup....oooo never again, lucky you that you don't get sick Tori

Hi - I made that on Saturday, too. First I cook the meat alone in the crock pot, drain and then add the sauce. I had 'bone licking good' sauce, it was low sugar and well spiced. One of my favorite recipies....
