UPDATE: Julie Campbell
I made this post on the Alabama Board yesterday but Julie asked me to post it here for you too.
-----------------------------------------
I want to give you an update on Julie's situation. I have a lot to tell you about but I'm going to try to condense it.
As you already know, we have been collecting and continue to collect funds for Julie's revision. We are in need of $11,000 to reach the needed amount of $18,500.
The next planned benefit is scheduled for April 29 at the Gulf Shore (Alabama) United Methodist Church. They are having a silent auction and dinner theater. If you would like to donate to the silent auction, please contact the church. You are also invited to attend.

Recently, the lease on the apartment where Julie and her family lived expired and the apartment was put up for sale. Their rent was very high. Due to Julie's extended medical needs and bills, her husband's employer offered to let them buy his home at a much reduced price. (He's having a new home built). He is financing the home for them and the payments will be much lower than the rent they were paying. This is his way of helping them with the expense of keeping Julie alive.
They are presently staying in a house that her home health care nurse loaned them. The above mentioned house is not yet available and they were going to have to stay in a motel. They are scheduled to close on the house next week.
The last part of my post is the most important part (so far) concerning Julie's surgery. She received word today that her appeal is being expedited and that she should get an answer within 72 hours. An approval means that she can be scheduled for surgery but it does NOT mean that it will cover ALL of the surgery or expence that will be incurred but it will cover enough to get her through the door.
Y'all PLEASE pray for this to go through. Pray everyday for her to get an approval. At this point, her LIFE is literally in the hands of the insurance company. The 72 hours begins in the morning (Friday) so we should have an answer by WEDNESDAY.
PLEASE pray for this. Julie's life depend on it.
------------------------------------
Today, there was a slight delay in the appeal process. They want Julie's signature on the paperwork. She lives more than 5 hours away from the surgeon's office but is going to try to satisfy them with a faxed signature.

Thank you Jaci.
I took the time to visit your profile. I enjoyed my visit and loved all the pictures. As I visited, I couldnt help but think to myself, this must be a truly happy person because you have such a wonderful smile. When I go the bottom of the page, it said "Laughter is the best medicine =) Meet ya there". That confirmed my thoughts.
Be Blessed,
Gina
Gina,
Thank you for the update on Julie. It sounds like the Lord is holding her in His hand through all of this. What a blessing for them with the new house and the temporary one for that matter. I cannot imagine going through and enduring what Julie has endured. I would love to come to the benefit, I just did yahoo maps and it is 9 hours, we have 4 kids ages 1 -3 which means that trip would take more than a day Is there going to be a list of auction items? Or should I be asking the church?
Prayers are being sent up for $11,000, her approval and for her health to be restored.
God Bless!
Jen
WOW, four kids 3 and under. (My kids were close like that but I only had three). I recently drove from Alabama to California with my daughter and her two boys (ages 3 and 2) so I absolutely understand about the time issue and traveling.
I live more than 5 hours from Julie so I'm not able to be involved with the auction. I do know of some wonderful items that have been donated though. The church should have a list. Their phone number and address is in the post.
Gina
Gina, Thanks for updating us and for all you are doing for Julie! I hope and pray everything goes the way we need it too. I will keep her in my prayers and as Jen said what a blessing to have been given a home to live in until her other one is available. Julie is a very strong person and she deserves everything good to come her way....
I too would love to come to the benefit, but unfortunately I live in NY. (A very cold Ny at that)
Hugs.
Chris
From the way Julie describes the house, it's not at all a typical "loaner" either. It's a very large, well maintained home on the beach. It's spring break for her kids so they are really enjoying that. Hopefully, they will close on their own house next week.
It's been coolish-cold here lately. It snowed last weekend but not enough to get excited about and of course it didnt stick. It probably doesnt compare to NY weather but for spring time in Alabama, it's been weird.
