Well, as many of you know, being older , jusxt turned 59 last week, my weightloss has been really slow and months would go by without any noticable losses. However, the weight has been slowly melting and this past week, I got an extra boost from having the flu...who says there's no silver lining behind a dark cloud?
Today, FOURTEEN months after my lap RnY surgery, I am now down 141 pounds !!!!!
The flu caused me to drop SEVENTEEN pounds in five days..yuck! NOT fun!
But hell's bell's!
Im THRILLED to announce that Im now at 271 pounds!
(down from an all-time high of 431 pounds)
Im walking on my pant-hems today and I pulled my waistband up to my armpits...lol...yayyyyyyyy! I cant wipe this grin off my face and my cheeks hurt.
Just HAD to share -

Hi Carole!
yes, that flu wasnt fun at all!
Ive been giving alot of thought to that "window of opportunity"
It seems to me that we still have our "tool", the surgery..it will still work..just that ot doesnt fly off as fast as it did for many people in the first year...so please dont think of it as a door that closes...if we continue to eat right, drink enough water and exercise, the tool will always work for us..the hard part is to remain focused and enthusiastic. Yes, our body is getting used to the reduced calories and so it requires us to work a bit harder, but it will always work as long as we continue the good fight!
