Hey Jen.... After the night I had last night this is a great post. My daughter is dating this boy (very nice 17 year old...boy) named Shawn and he was over my house for awhile last night. At 11pm he said he was going and I went to bed. 15 minutes later my 2 daughters came running into my room to tell me he had been in an automobile accident. I took the phone and the poor kid was crying and scared. We jumped in the car and headed to the scene, when we got there we had just passed the ambulance and we stopped to talk to the officer who told us what hospital they were taking him to. (We have three within 30 minutes of each other) the officer had us turn around so we wouldn't see the car and then we followed the ambulance. They took him to the trauma center which was the furtherest one away and I met his parents for the first time. The poor kid fell asleep at the wheel and when he left my house I did not think he acted tired. Proved me wrong! His parents bless their heart just kept saying they are thankful he had already dropped my daughter off before the accident! He rolled his car over several times and landed in a ditch filled with water from our recent flooding we had with the warmer weather. Thank GOD he was wearing his seatbelt because I think we would have a different outcome if he was not!He has loads of scrapes and bruises and some cornea abrasions and hopefully his eyes will heal. So I am thankful Shawn is alive I am thankful my daughter was not involved in the accident I am thankful everyday for my family and friends and definately thankful for my health! Hugs and have a good week too! Chris
