Update on me and my surgery

Hi everyone! Some of you may know, but almost 2 weeks ago I had to have my gall bladder out. I had an attack 2 weeks before and ended up on Vicodin. I have never quite experienced pain like that and I knew something was wrong. I had to wait to get it out since my surgeon was out of town, but it came out. I have been recovering pretty well and feel good so far. I am not in pain nearly like I was and ended up staying overnight because they also found scar tissue adhesions they repaired. Don't know where yet but I will find out when I go back on the 29th. But the nice part was that my roommate in the hospital just had her bypass by my surgeon right before my surgery. I gave her as much advice as I could in between our painkiller ****tails. But I did talk to her and her mom and kind of let them know what to expect. I gave my # and email to her and have talked to her since. I also had Brian bring my "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies" book up in the morning and gave it to her before I left. That book really helped me out and I wanted to share it with her. She started crying and I was so touched! But all in all everything here is going well. Tomorrow is my sister's bridal shower and I can't wait for the chaos to be over and I can go on vacation to the beach mid-May. Road trip with Brian and some of our other friends. CANNOT WAIT!! Hope all is well with everyone! I promise once this shower is over I will be on here more Love and stuff... Amber

Sorry to see you had to have more surgery Amber. I'm glad I had my gall bladder removed years ago so I don't have to worry about that. Hope you get healed completely soon. Karla

Good to hear you are recovering! I had my gallbladder out with the WLS as I had a few small stones. It feels good to share our knowledge with others just begining thier journey. Your sharing enhances both of your lives! Teresa

Sorry you had to go through this Amber but it sounds like you're doing fine now. It was really sweet of you to share your experience with your "Newbie" roomie. I'm sure it was really helpful to her. Take care and yes, we want to see more of you. Sending hugs, Ronna

Amber so glad you are feeling better. I had my gallbladder out in 1999 and it is horrible pain, so I understand for sure. I am sure you will have a wonderful time on your vacation! Enjoy the wedding activities! Hugs Chris

Hi Amber - I don't post very much at all, but have been a lurker since before our surgeries last year. I'm just wondering what your symptoms were re: your gallbladder and if you had many episodes before they decided to remove your gallbladder or just the one. I had my first issue last weekend - I believe it was gallbladder from what I have read. I was on the couch and couldn't stand up straight for the entire day. It took a few days before the soreness went away. I have an appt with my surgeon in a couple weeks. Just trying to figure out if it really was my gallbladder or something else. I have definitely not experienced that kind of discomfort before (not even after surgery that I recall). Thanks Eileen
