update

Went to the surgeon today. He said it is probubly an ulcer. Small, but hidden with a normal size scope. He put me on 2 more meds, that makes 3, for a month and then another scope in 6 weeks. Not happy about that. He did say he would put me under for it. He said there was nothing i did that caused it. It happens because the intestine isn't use to the acids from the stomach. Nothing I did caused it and nothing I could have done to stop it. I am not on any special diet or anything. So now I sit at home, going to get disability if i can figure out Oregons horrible way of doing things. He also thinks it is a fluke and very slim chance of it happening again. But not impossible. He had never had this sort of thing happen before. So I am fine, feel great. Bored some i guess and a little scared about what the future holds, with both me and hubby looking to find new careers. Hope you get well soon. My surgeon has me take Prilosec everyday to try to keep ulcers from forming. He says it's common if a bypass patient doesn't take something to keep the acid down. Sorry that happened to you. That's the pits. Karla

Kristi, Wow, that is kinda scary. At least he is nipping it in the bud with the meds and the scope. Good luck with the new career search ahd keep us updated on the status of the scope. God BLess! Jen
