Can I just tell you how much I love you all?

And I am not saying that lightly...I **love you all.** I love you for the never-ending support you have given me this past year...I do not think I could live my life without you at this point! Thank you SOOO much for the prayers and good wishes for my son...they worked! So...here is the update on Jersey Kid (I LOVE that, Ronna and Cathlene!!)... We braved the snow at 6:15 am Monday morning to go to the Surgical Center. We got there right on time and everyone there was very upbeat and pleasant. And the waiting room was great...big, comfy chairs, TV, snacks, etc... We brought my little two-year-old into his recovery room to get him into his gown. He was NOT in the mood for this because he was tired and cranky (big shocker there...he is cranky most of the time lately...probably from being sick all the time!). They brought in a sedative for him and...he spewed it all over MY gown! So they brought it again and, this time, it took. I have to tell you...I was SO terrified...but seeing my son on this drug was SOOO dang amusing! He was all loopy and giggly. He kept touching my lips going, "huh-huh-huh"...giggling his head off. I nearly peed my pants I was laughing so hard. I was the one to bring him to the O.R. It took three grown men to hold him down to put the ether mask on him. I thought this would be a traumatic moment for me but I just kept thinking of him drugged so I was not devestated. Plus...my son is SO strong (which is not always a good thing) that, again, it took three men to hold him down...AND he held his breath so what normally takes 15 seconds to put someone to sleep took my son TWO MINUTES. He is a tough cookie! The surgery took just under an hour. When he came to in the recovery room he was GRUMPY! I mean...full-on ornery! I know how he feels...I am irritable when I am woken out of anesthesia...but he was screaming his head off. FOR TWO HOURS. They gave him **3** shots of Demerol to try to get him to calm down. And, after two hours, he finally fell asleep. We were allowed to leave after about 3.5 hours. It was a nightmare...but, thankfully, it is over. The struggle now lies in getting him to drink fluids. Little bribes are helping! I cannot wait until this winter is over...spring HAS to be better, right!?! But thank you all SO MUCH again...for everything. I cannot wait until I am able to be on the board full time again because I miss you so much it hurts. It is just impossible to get online lately. I told my husband tonight that I NEEDED 20 minutes online, dangit...because I needed to update my wonderful friends! But now I have to run again... In the meantime...I love, love, love you!! I am so glad that everything went fine. I think sometimes that the surgery on the littles ones is harder on the moms and daddys.... I pray that he has a speedy recovery. Which I am sure he will. Little ones seem to bounce back so quickly! When my son had surgery back when he was 2 and then again when he was 3, he was playing power rangers and jumping off of the sofa the same day that we brought him home from the hospital. God bless Cathy

That is awesome. I heard the sedatives made kids all loopy. I am so thrilled everything went well. Hopefully this will make him less sick. Hope to talk to you soon! Take Care! ~Norma~
