Do you know how to make Rice Crispy Treats? Now think Milky Way....Yummy.....
I make these for my son to take to orchestra for there bake sales and they disappear before anything else.
3 Tablespoons of butter or margarine
1 package of (10 oz.) marshmallows little ones are easier to melt down
6 cups of crispy rice cereals you can use original or chocolate cocoa krispies
4 normal size Milky Way candy bars
Start by cutting your milky way candy bars into small pieces I cut mine into about 8 pieces. Later you will be melting these down. Now don't eat any of the Milky Ways.
Melt butter in a large saucepan on low heat. Add marshmallows after marshmallows have melted down about half way add your cut up milky way candy bars pieces; coo****il marshmallows and candy bars are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring constantly so it will not burn at the bottom of the pan. Remove from heat.
Add cereal immediately; mix lightly until well coated. Press into a greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Cool completely.
Cut into 24 squares or desired size.
NOTE:
Especially for the holidays you can go to a craft store and buy decorating cake pans and make these into hearts using plain krispy cereal but adding red food coloring when stirring the marshmallows, or for St. Patrick Day you can make shamrocks, and so on for easter--bunnies, Christmas I make christmas trees-bells.....The kids of all ages love these but beware very HIGH IN CALORIES.......YUMMY
Good Luck Jaci
