Happy 1 Year to Me! :)
Sorry it's taken me a day to post, but I need to take a day or so to let it sink in that I'm 1 year post-op. I know that I haven't been active on this board in the past few weeks. I'm currently in a mentoring program through my doctor's office and have been posting a lot on the surgeon's message board.
First off, I hate the scale they have @ Dr. Fullum's office. I sware it is 7 lbs heavier then what my scale says. So I am not going with their scale weight, I am using mine! LOL So... I'm down 106 lbs. Gotta be happy about that. I still have 16 lbs to go before I am at 'my' goal, but I can do that before I go back for my 18 mth visit.
The Program Director read to me the essay that I wrote backin October 2004 on why I wanted weight loss surgery. Oh boy did I cry. I felt so sorry for that "fat girl" that had to write it. It's strange because I no longer know that girl, but could feel her pain. I put this letter up on my blog if you want to read it.
I did talk to the surgeon about the pain I've been experiencing on my left hand side (near the lower bottom incision). On 01/05/07, I had an abdominal CT which didn't show anything. So after talking to the surgeon and his assistant, they both seem to think it's an adhesion. Bascially when they remove the tool from your body during the LAP RnY, a layer of fat can get trapped in the pocket where the tool once was and it adheres to what it can... whether it be the old stomach or even the intestinal wall (think of a rubber band being pulled very tightly). So one Tuesday in the upcoming weeks, I'll be having an "exploratory LAP" so that they can see exactly what is causing my pain. Typically my pain is triggered when I lift heavy things like a large (filled) laundry basket, groceries, a case of water etc. I'll keep you all posted.
Well here is a link to my blog where I have my essay and my latest pictures, if you want to check them out. http://www.scrapbook.com/blogs/79782.html
I will try to post more on this board. I hope those that are going to Vegas have a wonderful time!
Luv ya guys!
Susan

Hi Susan,
What a transformation in how you are looking this past year. I had to go bck into your profile to figure out who you were - LOL. You look really beautiful and congrats on your one year surgiversary. Sorry to hear about the pain you are experiencing. Hopefully they will figure out what it really is so they can treat it. Best wishes!
