Health concerns for me...
For the last 3 weeks I've had severe stomach pain to mild, MAJOR BLOATING! (like a balloon) and I have been nauseated. This is right after I eat or drink... anything, any amount, and yes, now even from water. I saw my surgeon DR and after going over the basic crap (yes I'm not eating crap, yes I'm eating good, yes I'm eating slow, yes I'm not eating and drinking at the same time), he did an upper GI on me. It was good, and only showed a small hiatal (spelling) hernia which was so small it couldn't be causing these symptoms. So they scheduled me tomorrow for a gallbladder test (you drink or get injected with some dye and then make the gallbladder contract to see if it's working properly). Well yesterday I had an ultrasound because my periods have been whacky and almost constant for the last 18 mos even on many forms of birth control (pills, patch, nuva ring). Well they found a huge mass on my right ovary. Huge as in over 11cm. They THINK it's from having endrometriosis (spelling) that we didn't know about. Or it might be ovarian cancer but they can't tell for sure until they actually go in there and take it out and have it biopsied, etc. When you check the symptoms for ovarian cancer though my symptoms match perfectly... the gastric symptoms are actually part of that and even said for many women this goes untreated and ignored because they think it's a stomach or gallbladder problem. Well that's sounding very familar but in our case, I think we always worry we'll have that problem or some sort? (the gastro stuff). I am so scared and so nervous. They are pretty sure it's not cancer and pretty sure that's causing those symptoms anyway, so we're going to wait and see. The gallbladder was postponed, seeing how this goes. So I see the GYN Dr on Friday to discuss options which I don't know what they mean. It's so huge it has to be removed and because of the side effects. I suppose they mean if they just take that, or the whole ovary or what, I don't know. I am totally freaking out and bawling like a little baby. And my mommy is gone on vacation this week and I just really want her ya know? lol I'm laughing but it's true. Oh and they also found my thyroid isn't working either, hypothyroidism. So that explains being cold every minute of the day (my hands are so cold at all times, people won't even let me touch them!). Also both of these medical problems cause weight gain which explains a lot to me. It's been such a struggle to lose weight even with this surgery while most people just dropped it like nothing. Also my weight fluxates around 5 lbs but even up to 10 sometimes, and that's not changing eating patterns or exercise. If anyone has had this problem, please please email me. Any advice you have would mean so much to me ([email protected]). I'm really scared even though I know I shouldn't be. I'm a fighter and I didn't go through all this to get cancer or something else. I just hope they do something quickly because I start classes again on Jan. 22. I don't want to stop going or even take any time off of it if I can help it.
Thanks for listening, er reading!

Well crap a monkey I hate that you are having to deal with this, but hope that they will find out what's going on and fix it fast.
Hopefully whatever it is they found it quickly. I'm glad you didn't wait and talked to you DR about it and that put into motiion all the tests. I know what a hassle it is but with good luck they will be able to help you soon.
Keep thinking positive thoughts
Sending you many hugs,
Ronna
@ "crap a monkey". I never heard that one, but it's a good one!
Renee, I hope they help you and help you out soon! I have endometriosis, and it certainly can cause abdominal pain...in the worse way! Sometimes your uterine tissue attaches to your bladder or your intestines....it sucks. Hopefully they can give you some relief. Sending prayers your way.

Well, that sucks! I am glad they are moving fairly quickly so you don't have to wait and wonder. Maybe this will all be a blessing in disguise and you will feel so much better with it removed and the hypothyroidism taken care of. I can understand about wanting your Mommy, I don't think we ever get over that! Keep us informed!

Good to see you, Renee, even if its challening news. My sister had the same thing. They did take it right out, it was a laprascopic (ya think I could spell that by now!) procedure and she was home that afternoon. Her pain was immediately gone and has she was back to normal in a few days. Its a blessing that they caught yours and can remove it. My thoughts are with you for the best!
