Nebraskans invading Texas
Hazel, I knew you would know this was for you...I have a student that comes and checks in every year from Nebraska. I told him and his mom that I have a friend in Hordville, NE. They knew where it was and said it was a ways from their town. They're from a small town also, Randolph, NE. They are local "bee" people. They farm up north from June to December, and come down here January thru May. Their brother and sister in law live here year round and keep bees here all the time. They have a son in athletics and I know them fairly well too, they just don't go back and forth. This boy does really well for moving like they do, both schools just work well w/ him and he's a great kid...hard working, polite, and really likeable. His mom really is up on what he takes, course descriptions, etc. to know what should and shouldn't transfer as credits between the two. I worked with him also when he was in 5th and 6th grade and I keep his paperwork and wait for him to check back in every year. I'll miss him when he graduates. I did make the mistake of asking her if her brother in law here was doing better after his heart problems and being in the hospital last fall during football season and felt terrible when apparently they didn't tell their family anything about it. She said probably they didn't say anything because they didn't want the grandparents to know and worry! Oops...Karla's big mouth!
I just wanted to know I thought and got to talk about you yesterday...
Much love,
Karla
