Looking for some good cook books to try new receipes
I've been bad over the holidays. Going up and down the same 6 pounds. I don't dump on sugar. And I have been grazing all through the month especially in the evening after coming home from work. I have been taking my vitamins and drinking liquids. Just the amount that I can now eat is more... or I get hungary quicker.... UGH!!
I don't want to go back over that number that I reached when I lost the 122 pounds. A pound here and there I don't mind because I know I can beat that and work at it.
I want to make out a menu for a week at a time so I will fall back in track. But i need new ideas burning out quickly.....Why can't sugar stay the same like it did when we first had the surgery..It was a definate no no I got really sick...
Looking for advice from my January friends...
Suzan.
oh I got a new picture up finally.....hugs to all
Stick to meat and beans, cottage cheese, eggs, etc. Use mostly low fat cheese and stay away from bread. We've probably all got too comfortable w/ a little cracker, crouton, tortilla here and there and kept adding on. I know I have.
Susan Maria has a cookbook on bariatriceating.com that has pretty good bariatric friendly recipes. There's some others out there also. Just do a search for bariatric cookbooks.
Good luck!

There are several out there... that I have seen, but I don't have.
One is Chef Dave Fouts (w3.chefdave.org) He is a WLS patient has two cookbooks that are available in the eStore at (WeightWise.org) They are a little pricey at $29+ but might be worth it?
There are also a handful of recipes on his website you might try, for a start
Another is from Kaye Bailey at (w3.livingafterwls) They are $16 each. I am having trouble getting on the site today, so they might be having some difficulty, but you can try.
Another WLS patient site is Barbara Thompson at (w3.WLScenter.com) She sends out a newsletter which always contains a recipe or two, if you go to her main site, you can look through the newsletter archives and "hunt down" the recipes.
I have found other sites which offer recipes and suggestions, if you would like more of the information I have collected, let me know.
I am always looking for more useful information, so if anyone has sites to suggest, Please share!
I am not advocating any of these, because I have not seen them, but I have been curious about how useful they might be... at least to give some ideas with new directions to go in. I know I get bored, too.
Best Wishes,
Angela
