My daughter heather just found out she is pregnant, 5 months after her surgery. We are really nervous. She called our surgeon's office and they sent her a special diet for pregnant women. She is really scared that she can not eat all the food on the diet. Has anyone out there had a similar experience, or knw about any. She has two boys 11 and 8 and willing welcomes another but the surgeon had told her not to get pregnant for 18 to 24 month after surgery. Of course this pregnancy was a suprise, but also a blessing. i am so concerned about her healthe and the babies, any sugestions from anyone? please keep Heather and her baby in your prayers. Rosemary

I got pregnant my 10th month after surgery. My docotor's protocol says to wait 18 months. He told me that I had to wait a minimum of 6 months when I asked 100 questions about getting pregnant. He knew I was anxious! I am on bedrest due to bleeding and cramping complications. I am being followed through this pregnancy by my OB who will deliver, a high risk OB (specializing in maternal and fetal medicine) and by my endocrinologist. I go to my OB tomorrow to talk about this bleeding and bedrest. I would really like a copy of the diet that your daughter was given. No one I have talked to has a diet for pregnancy. I spoke with a nutritionist which was useless. My high risk OB advised me that I should be eating 2000 calories per day. Could you scan and email me a copy or fax me a copy? If you want to fax me, send me a private message and I will send you my phone number. I cannot believe all the food I can eat. I just ate 3/4 of a chicken breast. This morning for breakfast I made a egg, ham and cheese breakfast biscuit and at the whole thing. The biscuit was one og those whole wheat grands. I have read on the pregnancy board that some of the other girls can eat a lot while the are pregnant and then after they deliver they go back to our normal. God Bless Jen and my miracle #2

Hi Rosemary-Everyone is different however a friend of mine who had WLS 3 years ago got pregnant at 6 months out and had a healthy baby and a good pregnancy-I too am pregnant unexpectedly however I was 10 months out and my sugeon too had told me to wait 12-18 months-I would be interested to get a copy of the pregancy eating plan that she received because I just saw the specialist yesterday and the only thing she told me was to take my prenatal vitamin and eat a wide range of foods-I wish your daughter the best : )
