Sunday Roll call....

Hello everyone I am sitting here hoping the boards would wake up. It is another quiet weekend. Yesterday I went to a suprise birthday party for a friend who turned 50. Poor girl was sicker than a dog and didn't want to leave her house but her husband made her...I hope we don't get sick now. Anyway I didn't know alot of people there but the ones I did know complimented me over and over and my friends husband called me "bones" It was funny. I still don't see myself as "bones". The friend who's party it was has an over weight daughter who is interested in having the surgery but she has called around and the doctors are saying she must be 21. Not sure why. My other friend who has a 12 year old son who has been overweight since birth (weighed in at 12 pounds) is having surgery Dec 29 in cleveland. He now weighs 330 pounds and I think there has to be a medical reason he is so big. He does not eat like you would think he would. I hope they both get what they want. Anyway here are some questions to ponder.... 1) How old were you when you first became overweight? 2) Were you the only one overweight in your family or are/was there others? 3) How were you treated by your family when you were over weight? 4) How many siblings do you have and what order are you? 1) How old were you when you first became overweight? I would have to say...Late teens, then stayed that way all my adult life...going up and down and up again with diets. 2) Were you the only one overweight in your family or are/was there others? I had 2 sisters who were over weight as children and I will admit we were all mean to them. 3) How were you treated by your family when you were over weight? My siblings and mother would comment (meanly) alot and it would hurt. I never told them about diets or anything because one time I told my Mom I lost 20 pounds and she said look behind you..... 4) How many siblings do you have and what order are you? Are you close to them? I am the 5th child out of 7...I have three older sisters (one passed away) and 1 older brother and 2 younger sisters. I am close with my brother and my sister who is 14 months younger than me.... 5) Do you get together over the holidays with your siblings? Every year it is the same thing...We do not speak through out the year than every Christmas everyone starts with ....we are family we should get together....But to me if you can't be "family" all year, why pretend at Christmas..... ~~hugs and well wishes~~ Chris

1) How old were you when you first became overweight? I weighed in at 7#9oz at birth but I was so short that my G-dmother called me Buddah. I've always been fat. I wore a size 18 to my 8th grade graduation. 2) Were you the only one overweight in your family or are/was there others? My paternal grandmother, whom I most resemble, was fat also. My father, too. My mom and sister have always been of normal weight, not skinny, just average. 3) How were you treated by your family when you were over weight? Horribly. My sister has always treated me like doggie-doo. My mother allowed it. My father couldn't relate to me despite the fact that he was heavy too. 4) How many siblings do you have and what order are you? Are you close to them? I have just the one sister whom I refer to as MSTB, My Sister The B*tch. I only see her when I have to. 5) Do you get together over the holidays with your siblings? see above. Morning Chris! 1) How old were you when you first became overweight? * I remember being overweight all my life. I was normal at birth- 7 lbs 6 oz... 2) Were you the only one overweight in your family or are/was there others? * I was by far the largest one. My mom and dad have been a bit overweight (maybe 20 pounds) these past 10 years, but my mom was a skinny minnie in high school! My sister is 6'2" and Huge- She's massive lol. 3) How were you treated by your family when you were over weight? * There were tiny remarks here and there. My grandmother was the worst though 4) How many siblings do you have and what order are you? Are you close to them? * I have one sister, she's younger. We used to fight like cats and dogs. Now that she's moved away, its a bit better. 5) Do you get together over the holidays with your siblings? * She'll come up for Dinner at Christmas...

1) How old were you when you first became overweight? ~ I was born overweight.. 10 lbs. 10 oz. I slimmed down around 4th grade when I played softball but as soon as I quit playing in 9th grade, I gained weight quick 2) Were you the only one overweight in your family or are/was there others? ~ Me and my middle brother have always been the "chubby" ones. 3) How were you treated by your family when you were over weight? ~ My oldest brother always teased us but everyone else treated us normal. 4) How many siblings do you have and what order are you? Are you close to them? ~ I have 3 older brothers then me. So I'm the youngest and only girl 5) Do you get together over the holidays with your siblings? ~ Yes, every year we go home to our parents house. I cant waite because the oldest brother that has ALWAYS had something to say, has not seen me since surgery. He seen one pic when I was 3 months post op and that's it. Kay

Hi Chris Sorry I didn't get to post today. I've been busy with my EBAY business. Wanted to get a bunch of things listed before the holidays kick in Anyway here are my answers to your roll call: 1) How old were you when you first became overweight? I remember being put on a diet when I was 5 I never remember not having a weight problem. 2) Were you the only one overweight in your family or are/was there others? My mother always had a weight problem and my sister struggles as well. She joined WW a month after my surgery and has lost over 50 pounds. I am so proud of her. 3) How were you treated by your family when you were over weight? It was normal in my family so I don't feel I was treated different or badly due to my weight. 4) How many siblings do you have and what order are you? Are you close to them? My sibs and I are very close. I am the oldest. I have a sister one year younger and a baby brother. He was born 4 days before my 9th birthday. In fact, my sister and I have been sharing a house since 2000. 5) Do you get together over the holidays with your siblings? Usually, although my brother lives in Houston now, but he still tries to come in for the holidays. He will be flying in Friday and be here for 2 weeks

1) How old were you when you first became overweight? Well, I was told that as soon as I came out into this world, I had two fingers in my mouth sucking vigorously!! LOL. I'd say I was overweight around 3rd grade. I was the brunt of many cruel jokes as a child but it made me very tricky and quick with my wit and tongue; so not too many would mess with me. 2) Were you the only one overweight in your family or are/was there others? My father is obese, and my grandfather (father's side) obese, so I got it from them. My mom's side very thin. 3) How were you treated by your family when you were over weight? My mother had the hardest time with my weight. She would make comments that would hurt me, one particular comment was when I was like in 5th grade buying school clothes. She took me to where the "old lady" clothes (polyester pants so forth) she would say, if you don't stop gaining weight, you'll be wearing those clothes made for old fat ladies. I was devastated!!! Needless to say, my mother died when I was 15 and my weight skyrocketed afterwards, in a way I am glad she never got to see me at my heaviest of 370lbs...the only reason I am glad she is was not around. 4) How many siblings do you have and what order are you? Are you close to them? I have 2 brothers and 1 sister, I am close to 2. I am the youngest, oldest and only child...here is how I explain it: I am my mother's 4th child, youngest of 4 but the years between us are great, the closest sibling my brother is 12yrs apart, so that makes me oldest in the area of age wise; then I am my father's only child...WOW, I am so confused!!! I have 1 stepbrother and 2 stepsisters, I get along with the stepbrother really well. 5) Do you get together over the holidays with your siblings? I will see my brother next weekend because I am going to Aerosmith concert, and he lives 15mins from Arco Arena. My sister and I live next door to each other so she'll be with me for Xmas to go over to my dad's house. My oldest brother I haven't seen in like 20yrs, he's a jerk. ~Kelli
