Just something to think about.........
I just wanted to share something that I was thinking about this past week. I work a part time assistant manager job at the mall over the holidays at the Santa Station each year. I see hundreds of children who come to see Santa and tell him all their wishes for Christmas. I don't think people know how hard it is for this Santa to sit for hours and hours with the patients of a saint listening to the children, lifting all those kids into his lap or helping to hold a screaming child so that parent can get that perfect picture, or putting up with the rude parent who had to wait to long in line and let her anger out on the Santa. We have two Santa's at our mall. One is 86 years old and has been doing it for our mall over 15 years. The other is in his 70's. They both have real beards, which the mall pays them more for, and are great looking Santa's. They work long shifts seeing there are only two of them and the station is open as long as the mall is.
Out of all the children I have see come and go and parents too, I have NEVER seen a child or parent bring in a plate of cookies or brownies or a hot chocolate from a store in the mall. I think we take these people for granted it takes a special person to listen to all those children and have conversations with them about there Christmas wishes. I hope by sharing this with you that this year when you take your child to see Santa you will bring a small bag of your Christmas cookies or stop and get a small cup of hot chocolate for your Santa to say thank you for making my child still believe in the miracle of Christmas and the gift of giving.
Just my thoughts.......

This is a horrible turn on this story, but I wouldn't recommend bringing home made stuff to a Santa, only because he probubly should choose not to eat it. Instead, how about a gift certificate for a coffee house in the mall, or for the cookie stand. I know it is terrible to think this way, but that way it wont go to waist. My kids are grown, but it is something I never thought about. Maybe when I am a grandmother, in 10 years or so, please, I will pass this on to my kids.
