Who is around?

Wondering who is like me and still has time to check the board today alot. I am going all the way across the backyard to my folks house for dinner and am only making mashed potatoes. So it is like most days when I am home, check here alot and nothing is being posted on any of the boards I check out, even worse than the weekends. So just wondering

I just finished the dishes and thought I would see who else was around. The turkey was good - the gravy was a DISASTER - the potatoes weren't quite done - the dressing was good (at least that's what the rest of the family said). I told my family this was the LAST year I was cooking.......next year we are going out. I'm off to decorate for Christmas.................the weather is BEAUTIFUL here today (even blue skies and sunshine); so I'm going to work off my turkey - LOL Rose from PA

We are sort of thinking of going to this real nice neighborhood cafe next year. We did the Marie Calendar a couple years ago, but it was awful. Mom is doing most of the cooking, I make rubber poultry myself. I think it will be nice if we do the cafe next year. Less stress. Don't you hate it when they say "the flavor was good" Yah, but if you have to chew it from rubber to a gummy paste, what good is the flavor

I'm here. Just came in from a long walk with my "fuzzy daughter". It's an unbelievablly beautiful day in Chicago. Warm, sunny....I must be in the Twilight Zone My sister's cooking, all I had to do was set the table. There will just be the 4 of us (my 2 nephew's too) so not a big deal tonight.

My husband is from outside Chicago, from Elgin, born and raise, until 80 when he moved to Ca. We are going to be in and out of Il. thruout Dec. but not near enough to see his mother. Oh well, he does get to see her several times thru the year, she is getting up there. Just wish I was going to see her. Hey how about keep this nice weather until after Dec. 21? That's when we stop the runs into the area

Elgin is 10 minutes West of me. Small world huh I'm with you about the weather. As far as I'm concerned it can stay this way until April and them warm up some. Oh yeah, I will allow snow on Christmas Day but only on the grass and the trees

What city are you in? I did the susan g komen 3 day walk all around that area last year, which is when I decided to have the surgery. I didn't walk, we work the walk and I drove a truck. I have spent a little time in the area, but not much I am afraid.

I'm in Hoffman Estates. That's just west of Schaumburg. I'm about 5 miles west of the Woodfield Mall if that gives you a better idea.

My Mother in law shops at the Woodfield mall. I don't think I have been there. But I think it was the only shopping around for a long time. I get so turned around in that area. Finally realized why, here there is always some sort of landmark, like a mountain, that gives me directions, there it is all flat for the most part

True it is very flat here. You need to know where the Lake is...that's east then you should be OK. Woodfield used to be the largest mall in the world till the built the Mall of America in Minnesota. It's been around since 1969. I hardly ever go there cause it's so big and so crowded. I'll be sure not to go anywhere near there tomorrow
