Okay ladies this is really weird but last month I got my period 3 times for 1 full week! Yuck. Anyways I have been exercising for the most part and eating around 1200-1400 cals a day including protein supplements. Problem is I have been craving salt. On Friday I weighed 291.5 and on Monday I weighed 297.5 ~6~ whole pounds! I walked 3 miles on Saturday and did not exercise on Sunday. Beware of those dang pretzels low calories but today I looked at the salt content and it is 560!!!!! I was like wow I did not think they had that much. Well enough ramblings I gained about 6 lbs in 2 days! Please tell me it is water retention cause I can't believe it is fat weight. So depressing :') Now I am not eating practically any salt since Monday and we will see on Friday what the scale reads! Tootles all.

Norma, Remember to increase your water intake along with decreasing the salt. Also remember that muscle weighs more than fat so if your clothes fit OK it may be that your weight is just redistributing. Keep the faith. RobinNJ

Norma: I am going to guess that it is, indeed, water retention. I bet you drop those lbs very quickly (maybe not as quickly as you gained them...but not much longer). And if you are working out a lot...you know the adage...muscle weighs more than fat...etc., etc. I think, though, that within a few days, those nasty lbs. will disappear! Good luck! Hugs, Jersey

Check with your doctor or nut about calorie intake. You may be eating too much as well. I'm at 800-1000 per doctors recommendation. Also you got to watch that salt. You have tremendous water fluctuations when you are still menstrating. So that may be the culpret. Try raw unsalted almonds as an alternative to salty stuff. You get the crunch and you also get a nice hit of protein and the good kind of fat. But limit it to an oz or so (about 28). Keep fighting the good fight. Sending hugs, Ronna

560 isn't that much salt. The recommended max a day is over 1200. Just increase your water if you are exercising. That is more likely the problem, not enough water, weird, but more than likely that will fix it. Remember also that it takes 3000 calories over what you burn to gain one pound. So obviously, that isn't it.
