199...here I come
Well, today is the day I was hoping to be at 199 for my birthday. I didn't quite make it, partially because I had bunco last night and someone else was preparing the food. We had mexican layered dip, not so bad, but the tostitos to dip it were! Meatless soup, made w/ pasta (did have black beans), and layered mexican salad, pecan tart, apple cake, and peach sorbet. The peach sorbet had rum in it and was wonderful. It tasted like a frozen Fuzzy Navel. I only had a bite each of the pecan tart and apple cake. Oh well, it was good. I didn't eat that much, just more carbs than I usually eat. I had decided if God wanted me at 199 by my birthday I would be. Obviously that was not his goal for me.
It's okay...I weighed in at 200.4 today. 6/10's of a lb. and I'll be at 199.8 - maybe tomorrow or Saturday.
This has been an interesting week. Tuesday I got a subpeona while at work to testify at a student's trial over too many absences. I have nothing to do w/ that - don't think they subpeoned the right person, but guess I have to be in court next week anyway. Then to top that off, that afternoon on the way home, an old man changed lanes on top of me in the middle of town and wrecked my less than 2 month old car. It's okay, just pretty banged up on one side. I didn't really get hurt, but have some uncomfortableness in one shoulder and behind my shoulder blade, which makes a popping sound every time I pull my shoulders back. I guess I'll have to get it checked out, because I don't want to have problems down the road from it. Now I've got to get estimates and deal w/ insurance. It shouldn't be too bad, because we both have the same insurance from the same agent! I found out yesterday, we also live in the same subdivision, I just never knew him. He didn't mean to do it, he just didn't look in his blind spot. I think it taught my son a lesson that I keep trying to pound into him about blind spot checking!
Enough of my week. I hope to say goodbye to 200's soon.

Hi Karla,
First of all Happy Birthday!! It sounds like you had a great time at the celebration.
Cars can be fixed but a hassle! and your shoulder needs some TLC I think. As for your goal- think of your birthday last year and what you weighed and ate, and now look at yourself this year. THAT is your greatest gift- you're only a pound away and I doubt if our bodies actually think in pounds. Long view-you have come a long way- don't let the day to day get you down. I am so proud of you! Take care

Happy happy birthday my friend!
Sounds like a great meal....I love Mexican food as you know.
Very scarey about the accident but I'm glad you didn't get too hurt. You should check it out though just to be safe.
You'll be under 200 before you know it
Take good care and have a wonderful rest of the day!
Sending hugs,
Ronna

Karla:
First of all....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Second of all...I am sorry to hear about your accident. That stinks but I am glad to hear it wasn't worse.
Third of all...I am so excited about how close you are to 199! I bet you make it tomorrow or the day after. Then you can slap *200* on its ass on its way out the door and say, "SIONARA!"
You are doing great...and I am pulling for you to reach 199 tomorrow!!
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Jersey
