Had My Endoscopy

Hey Jersey...I am glad your endoscopy was painless and am sure everything will be fine....As fars as your little guy goes, there are some things we as grown ups just do not understand...They run us regardless of age. My son is 14 and has been a spawn from satan now for a couple of months and I just do not know what to do anymore. He is a wonderful boy under most cir****tances but he is picked on horribly from other kids...He socially can not handle the "NORMAL" kids nastiness and he internalizes it until he just gets so sick of it he finally bursts. Unfortunately it is me who he bursts on and it just makes me want to cry...He is always asking what is wrong with him. Anyway enough on that... I started having pain in my stomach everytime I drink and it has been going on since Monday. I spoke with the Dr's wife who is an RN and she said she thinks I may have an ulcer...It only hurts for a few minutes and only after I drink..Not sure why? Keep us informed with your results and I am sure to be chatting with you again soon..Enjoy your costume party too. What are you going as? ~~hugs and well wishes~~ Chris

Hey Chris: Your story about your son made me tear up. I am soooooo sorry that he has to go through that. Nastiness from kids (normal or not) just sucks so badly...especially if you are sensitive. Have you thought about bringing your son to talk to someone? Maybe he can find ways to channel/deal with this anger without internalizing it or unloading it all on your. For now, though, I guess it is good that he does that with you...at least he gets it out. But I know it is horrible for you. Definitely get you tummy checked out! Ulcers are bad for everyone but especially for post-ops. Have you ever tried Prilosec? My friend (a post-op) is on it forever because she used to have terrible tummy issues. Since she started taking it (at the advice of our surgeon) she has been pain free. It is kind of expensive...but worth it! I will definitely let you know the results...I am really hoping it was just procedural. And...as for my costume party...I am going as a pirate (Elizabeth to my husband's Jack Sparrow). Hello, dolly--just read this (out of town). I was wondering about the new day care----is your sweet boy happy there? keep me posted. I have only 1 kid, too-- and I find it hard, as well. So----I'm with you on that one. I always feel sheepish complaining about my solitary kidlet with my friends who have many, but the other side is with only one they tend to need more from YOU (no sibs to bug). I think you expect a lot of yourself, J---who cares if you mouthed off to the airport cop? Also you were right to be pissed at your sissies. And about husbands.....puh-leeze.....hello... love 'em, but they're kinda clueless about these things.... lovelovelove you J--and you know if you lived close we'd be tight, cuz you are my GIRL----- Cathy

Hey Cath! I SOOO know we'd be tight...especially since I totally miss your posts when you are not here. You make me chuckle every time I read what you had to say. And I SOO NEED that in my life!! The Day Care is...okay. There have been issues but I think he is settling in. The thing is...he has been sick EVER SINCE I brought him there. I hope the allergist can find out what is wrong. He coughed again ALL last night. I am so exhausted I am slipping into the delirious stage (which is not a bad place to be, actually ). Thank you for, once again, making me smile!!! Love ya! Me

Jersey Mom Thank you so much for posting about your endoscopy. I have been out of work this past week with a viral bug and pleurisy. And the whole time my throat and swallowing has been a issue but the doctors all say it is acid reflux. Until I saw one of my surgeons associates today and she said you need a endoscopy done local and have a upper GI consult. Hope you don't mind me asking did they do yours with a local. Is it done in a doctors office? It sounds awful.....Even the nurse said she was sorry when she gave me the referral paperwork.....What a way to get your patient worried.
