Having an Endoscopy

Good morning, Everyone. Welp...I have an endoscopy scheduled for next Tuesday (10/24). A couple weeks ago, I woke up with an irritation in my throat...rather, my esophagus. It was the same feeling you have when it seems as though a pill is stuck in your throat. I thought maybe my iron pill (that I take before bed) irritated my throat so I ate some bread (which ALWAYS fixes the problem) and went back to bed. However, the irritation was there the next day. And the next. I called my surgeon and they said it was likely nothing but to call them if it did not go away the following day. Luckily, it did. However, I was awakened again last night by this irritation. This time when I called, they referred me to a gastroenterologist for an endoscopy. So...we'll see what we see! I am not terribly nervous about it but, you know, any prayers or good wishes you want to send me way would be very much appreciated! Love you guys! Jersey

Hope everything goes well Jersey. Keep us informed. I had one done about 2 years ago and my esphogus was to small and had to be stretched. A real simple procedure.

Thanks, Carly! I never heard of that before...stretching the esophagus. Wonder if that is my problem? I guess we will find out. I do not mind having this done...I would like to see how my pouch is doing, anyway. Gotta focus on the positives! Hugs, Jersey

Hey Jersey, I'll keep you in my prayers. I had one done at 7 weeks. Very simple procedure you go to la la land and then have an irritated throat for 2 days. I hope they find whatever is bugging your throat! Anna
