Plateau Buster - Days 6 & 7
Hey Everyone:
As I told you, I went to the doctor on Friday afternoon. I was afraid that I would cave in and peek when I got on the scale but, for the FIRST time, they did not tell me to get on the scale! I was saved from the temptation so that was good!
But that's where the 'good' ends...
I was really worried about a bump I had in my throat for 3 days. My Secret Pal said it might be strep but I have not had strep since I was a kid and still had my tonsils! Well...perhaps my Secret Pal is a nurse. Lo and behold...I have strep. And a minor flu.
So I have no complete menu or totals to post for the weekend. I have been the walking dead. I feel awful...achy, dead tired, light-headed. Yesterday I had two scrambled eggs for breakfast and the insides of two taco bell beef tacos for lunch (just the beef and some of the cheese...that's it). Last night I was so fatigued and starving I had a tomato and mozzarella appetizer from a local Italian restaurant. It was so good. I did not drink any Profect yesterday...I was feeling far too lousy.
Today...not much better...actually, it was worse! I had some lentils for lunch, a handful of grapes (off program) and a bite of a cinnamon doughnut from a local farm's fall harvest celebration. I will probably not eat for the rest of the day because I am still feeling so lousy. And no way am I dealing with Profect today, either.
I will recommit to this 100% tomorrow. Wednesday is Day 10 and I will not weigh until Thursday morning. Depending on the results, maybe I will extend the diet for two days to make up for this weekend.
We did not end up going to Hershey. On top of MY illness, my son is having a relapse, as well. That bothers me far more than my stupid cold.
You all have been SO supportive to me about this diet...I hope I did not let you down.
I will try to be perfect the next three days!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Love and hugs,
Jersey

Way to go Jersey....
I hope you feel better soon. I just have to say since the plateau diet I have been HORRIBLE!
I have been bouncing between 158 and 160 and I seem to crave salt. I am right in the middle of my monthly visit and am just getting over a horrible bladder infection so I am hoping to see an improvement soon. I hope your's goes better than mine did.
~~hugs and well wishes~~
Chris

Jersey, I'm sorry you are sick. My daughter had strep about a week ago, it's been going around her school. I had strep so many times as a child I can't even count that high, so I know what you're going through. Just take it easy and try to drink your fluids.
This weekend wasn't the best for me, either, as far as eating goes. Although my carb intake is much, much lower than before starting the PB, I still ate a few bites here and there of "off program" food. Oh well, I'm trying to look at the positive that my protein intake is definitely up and the carbs are much lower. I'm also doing much, much better on getting my water/fluids in. I started my period on Sunday, so I'm feeling pretty sluggish today (day 2 & 3 are always the worst for me), but I am going to head off to the gym. Hopefully, that will make me feel better--or at least like I accomplished something!
Anyway, take it easy and we'll both hope for a better next couple of days.
